What is going on Dec 6th???

To some degree, yes. I think the noise and moving train behind the CP performance would be kind of distracting from the atmosphere they're trying to present. Also, I think it's because they use the Main Street station as part of the show platform.

That makes more sense. Thanks.

So lining up 90 minutes before is suggested? Is there just a giant holding pen on Main St or do they have parts roped off? Where's the "entrance?"

When I was there, the train stopped running around 4:00 pm due to CP.

yeah -- i thought the train may shut down......

It has to shut down. The CP takes place right in front of the train station, and the choirs and musicians are positioned in front of, around and even on top of the train station at some points. There's no way a train is going to barrel through the middle of the performance.

And the performances are always at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., give or take a few minutes (if they are running late). See this post.

I think the December 6th issue -- the subject of this thread -- is more about the pharmacy/pharmacist convention and not solely about Candlelight. I've never had trouble getting a hotel room when Candlelight was happening, but when you throw in the extra convention that makes a big difference.

I guess there's something else going on that weekend too, Rave Day or something? I was shocked that all the BWs that are super close are essentially booked from now through new years so I called to verify and the gal said there's another even besides the CP.

As mentioned above, there is a pharmacy/pharmacist convention going on during that time. I don't know about Rave Day.

I found this online...

Twice a year, Ravers gather together at the happiest place in the world, and it’s not at EDC or Tomorrowland. Since the 90’s, Raver Day meet-ups at the magical Disneyland have been going on, joining other unofficial days including Star Wars Day, Harry Potter Day, Gay Day and more. Organization of the event was passed onto Magic in the Making in 2002 who’s continued the annual tradition uniting ravers together every summer and winter.

Disneyland, although not a festival loaded with your favorite DJ’s, provides a unique atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. Catching their one-of-a-kind rides while actually being able to hear what the person next to you is saying allows for some serious bonding experiences to be had. Be sure to take your traditional group picture in front the Sleeping Beauty Castle or stop by the Mad T Party to get your shuffle on.

Fun fact: Disneyland used to host “ElecTRONica” every Sunday at California Adventure which featured a rave-style atmosphere with strobe lights, lasers and EDM. And there was a bar!

It’s important to remember we’re not the only ones who will be at Disneyland. Children will be everywhere, so keep in mind to be respectful and set a good example for our future generations. Magic in the Making only asks no laying down at the castle, whistles, pacifiers or light shows. Don’t worry, Disneyland’s park is so well decorated it’s sort of like living within a Tomorrowland stage. If you get a park hopper pass, Disneyland California’s “World of Color” is one of the best light shows you will ever see.

Join us at the next Raver Day: SATURDAY DECEMBER 6TH at Disneyland!

Well, the combination of Ravers, Pharmacists and the longtime Candlelight Ceremony guests (some of whom are older and elegantly dressed, as they have been attending the Ceremony for decades and it is a special event for them) -- as well as the usual hodgepodge of Disneyland/Holiday season visitors -- is going to make for an interesting day and weekend!:rotfl2: A very unique, eclectic mix, indeed!:thumbsup2

OMG – it is going to be a very interesting weekend – oh well we’ll just take it slow and make sure DS’s enjoys his b-day!

Glad we are there the 8th and 9th too!
