What is "Electric Water Parade"?

I saw someone mention this in another post and saying that you coul dwatch it after your dinner at Grand Floridian but I am not even sure what it is and what time it is?

Can anyone help or maybe it is something by another name.

went to see this a few weeks ago from the beach at Poly and was dissappointed. I remember it as a kid and loved it but all they did was line the boats up, flash the lights and then move on. I don't think we even heard more than a minute of the music.

I thought that it was an issue being scheduled at the smae time as Wishes...maybe that was the problem.

Was this just a one off expereince or has it gone downhill? Maybe Poly is not the best place to see it???

We watched it this summer and like you were disappointed. It is maybe 5 minutes or so. Not worth chasing down. If you happen to be there, okay to watch, but it is not much.

The Electric Water Parade has been running since WDW was created. We idscovered it one night at the Contemporary Resort by accident and try not to miss it. Its a string of barges with a network of lights that form different critters and plays fantastic music. It starts by the MK, goes to the GF, then the Poly then Cr, FW and then WL. Not too sure of the order of resorts but upon check in you can ask the times.

After over 30 visits since 1977, its still free, fun to watch and listen to. Others think its lame but Disney doesn't have to run it but its like a little added perk for the Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon resorts. We catch this then the fireworks and you know you're in Disneyworld. Don't let others steer you away, catch it, watch it and enjoy.

Every time this question comes up, I try to "SOFT-PEDAL" it.

EWP is really only a "long-time tradition" and certainly not much of a "show".

But folks love to "talk it up" and get others who've not seen it really JAZZED to view it.

Its just a very few minutes (maybe 5) in length and only has a couple of "scenes" (The cartoon animals and the Flag n' stars).

So please, don't go expecting this to be a BIG DISNEY SHOW, a "not-to-be-missed" kind of thing.

Think of those "Christmas Lights in the Park" kind of 2-step "animation".
Now, mount a few of those on BARGES and tow them across a lake.

Its "cute" if you happen to see it.
But if it doesn't "blow you away with thrilling vistas" don't say I didn't (TRY to) warn you.

Now for some REAL excitement, sample the BEVERLY soft drink at Epcot's "Club Cool".

We first saw the EWP in the early 80"s when we were staying at FW and the children were young. At the time I said to my DH it was like "gravy" and it was free. We loved it then, so Disney and magical to us.
We saw it from 'OHana in October while we were eating dinner. It brought back great memories of our first trip to Disney.
I can not disagree with Robo, however. It is an early Disney presentation and a tradition. Since its debut 30ish years ago, Disney has grown and now produces some truly extraordinary events - Wishes, Fantasmic, Spectro, Illuminations. The EWP is not of that caliber. It is interesting and fun with great music, in my opinion.
I would not go way out of my way to see it, but if you are in the area, it is a nice little show. I plan on showing it to DGD and DGS in 2 weeks, as I help to introduce the next generation of my family to Disney Magic. We are staying at the Poly and at 3 and 5 I believe they will enjoy it. DS, their Dad, will share my memory of his first trip to WDW. It will mean a lot to me!
