I am looking up room rates for a hotel but I can't figure out what the difference is. I'm sure someone on here knows. Basically, I want to be able to get up in the morning and have a good view of the ocean.

I always though oceanFRONT means the hotel is right on the beach, step outside, and you are there. OceanVIEW means, you can see the ocean from the hotel. It may be 3 miles down the road, but you can see it. LOL

Oceanfront-means that you will be right in front of the ocean and what you want.
Oceanview means that it could be a partial view so it could be a corner room that you can see some of the ocean.

I believe that it means with ocean front you are facing the ocean. With ocean view, you may not be facing directly at the ocean but you can still see it. I hope that this is correct information!!!!

Oceanfront room - means your view of the ocean is obscured by something trees/buildings etc

Oceanview room means you can actually see it from your room.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: even if you have to stand on a chair and gaze over the buildings you cans see it so it is oceanview, lol! I have read here that water view at WDW resorts could mean looking at a birdpool, lol. :lmao:

Oceanfront, you're directly facing the ocean. Ocean view means that you may get to see a tiny speck of ocean if you look really hard. :teeth: Seriously, it depends on the location of the hotel and how close to the ocean it is.

Nothing beats an oceanfront view though.

Thanks for your help! The oceanfront rooms are only $8 more so I'll probably go with that. Have only been to the ocean once before and I always said if I am going to go again I'm staying right on the ocean!

I am honestly hoping this hotel is for real!

We went to Daytona Beach once and this one hotel look BEAUTIFUL online. Awesome deal, looked great. Got there and it was a dump! But this one is in Myrtle Beach and it has excellent reviews! And so far, I haven't see any age requirements. I'll be 21, but I've seen a lot of the hotels in area say no under 25 allowed! Grr....

I know with renting a house or condo Ocean front means on the beach, Ocean view only means you can see the Ocean. Ocean Block is across the street from the beach.
