hey there.. yes it's obvious.. I AM a newby... I am trying to learn as much as I can about DVC.. and there are a bunch of abbreviations I'm stummbling over, and the biggest is what is being termed "the rumor" and "crv",(I think that's how is abbreviated)..I was also reading about how some of you got "offers" for new properties as DVC memebers before the public.. what's this about, and are there special discounts for other places? I thought "points are points" and that you don't need to buy at other places to utilize their property!??

Kris, although there are experts around here with much more experience then myself, I will try to give you a thorough answer to your questions. CRV is for the much anticipated and rumored Contemporary DVC resort. There has been construction at the Contemporary for some time, newspapers have reported that its a timeshare and there has been much speculation here and on other boards that its a DVC. The CRV wish club is for folks who desperately want to have this monorail DVC. Points are points and you can stay where ever you wish, however there is a priority booking window for what is considered your "home" resort." Your home resort is the location you own points at. Some folks have multiple homes, others, like myself have just one. You may use your points to book reservations 11 months out at a particular resort if you own points at that resort and 7 months out if you don't own there.
