What is all of this talk about the monorail with SSR?

... and a new urban legend is born.

Vonpluto. Thanks for the cool link.

It seems perfectly reasonable for Disney to include this disclaimer, given the appearance of a monorail in their future vision for DtD. Between now and 2054, anythings certainly possible.

Also... I'm sure the guides are also more than willing to point out that little tidbit. ;)

what is the rumor about the monorail cost? That it costs what like 10 million a mile or 1 million dollars every 100 feet or something like that? Wow, think of what that is going to do to those SSR dues!!

Gawrsh!!
Oh wait, that's that other dawg, the dippy one.

There was also talk on teh rumors board about light rail. I'm guessing it is much less expensive. I saw the facts anfd figures, but it's still hard to understand why it costs so much, it seems like less construction than a road. I doubt the monorail will expand to DTD, I'd expect an Animal Kingdom connection first, or a connection to the 5th park.

can't imagine anyone would think of a monorail as a negative,

Unless, of course, the monorail went through but there actually wasn't a stop-- it was just running through on its way to DTD.

All hypothetical, as I too believe this isn't happening any time soon. Or in my lifetime.

5th park???

what 5th park - or are you talking about the one to compete with IOA - I though they decided against it...

Here's where that Epcot to MGM rail was planned to go:

Guess they could change their minds at any time still!

While I would love monorail service at SSR. However, if we had a room with a monorail view, my 2yo would want to sit and watch it all day, rather than going to the parks! :teeth:
