We can't sail, so let's reminisce.
I'll start, I have many, since we have been sailing with the kids since 2004. One of my funniest memories happened on our last cruise, November 2018. Magic out of NYC. We cruised with my sister and my adult niece. My nephew, sister's oldest son had been tragically killed in August of 2018. To my surprise, she still went on the cruise. Needless to say, I tried to do everything and anything I could to make it a fun time.
It was her 1st ever cruise, so she obviously had never been on the Aquadunk. In all of my cruises, I had never been on either. I did not like how steep the drop looked. She convinced me to try it. I hesitantly agreed, so we climbed the steps. Once we got to the top, and I saw how steep it really was, I wanted to back out. I was trying to leave and go back down the stairs, but she and my niece were physically blocking me from doing so. She convinced me to do it, as scared as I was. She went 1st, and I was next (niece behind me so I couldn't run). I am in the box....IN THE BOX. She shot down, and I am crossing my arms, getting ready to be released when I looked down and she is looking up at me signaling to abort. You know how you shake your fingers in front of your throat when you want someone to stop what they are doing???!! UMMM a little late, Sissie!!! My brain no sooner realized what she was signaling when I was released. OMG. I was in full panic all the way down. She is a thrill seeker, and for her to signal for me to not do it, meant it must have been bad. I don't even remember most of it. I do know when I survived, I realized I was still alive, we laughed hysterically. I couldn't believe she basically forced me on it, only to tell me not to when it was too late to turn back. I think we laughed all the way back to the staterooms. Never did go on it again.
