...and can I get one with only 82 days until my trip? Would it be weird to go alone? Thanks!

The package is if you want to see the show but don't want to wait in the regular line. You eat at one of 3 restaurants and then they give you a voucher to enter the show from a special package entrance up to 30 minutes before the show.

The package seats are to the right of the stage only.

It's worth if you go at a busy time of year. It doesn't cost any extra to do the package except to pay for your meal. It's H&V, MM and Brown Derby that participate.

We always do the package because we have little ones and my DH doesn't like waiting too long in a line or even in his seat!

You'd call and ask for dinner (at whichever restaurant of the 3 you chose) with the Fantasmic package and they'll give you a list of times. They will ask for a CC to hold the ADR in case of a no show. They give you up to 48 hours to cancel.

HOpe this helps.

Thanks, that is very helpful, except I don't know the lingo on MM or H&V! Which restaurant would you chose and why?

Sorry!

H&V is Hollywood & Vine (a buffet; good for kids or picky eaters)

MM is Mama Melrose (a nice Italian restaurant)

I've only eaten at H&V and MM and enjoyed them both. H&V is good with little ones. MM is good for grown ups!

Brown Derby, I'd like to try someday but NOT on the dining plan, it's 2 table service credits so I'd only try it if I wasn't on the dining plan or just pay cash for it. Many love this restaurant.

If you go HERE you can check out the menus.

I'm new to the lingo too, but I'm learning! MM-Mama Melrose and
H&V-Hollywood and Vine...I think... :rotfl: Mama Melrose is an Italian Place and Hollywood & Vine is a themed American fare buffet place. You can check out the menus on Allearsnet.com...very valuable website! I've got an ADR for Mama Melrose...I've heard pretty good things about it! My fiance and I decided not to do the Fantasmic Package b/c we don't want to be locked into anything or any particular place...but it seems like a good deal if you know for sure that you are going to the show!

good luck!!!

Thank you for the advice. Does the dinner time have to be close to the time for the show?

They usually won't make an ADR for the show any closer then 2 hours before. They will tell you a time range to choose from. For example, if the show is at 8:30p, they'll tell you they have times from 3:30p to 6:30p (if they aren't already taken).

Was it worth it? We would do the buffet one because we have 2 toddlers and me the picky one. We are wondering if this would be better then a character meal. Although the seats are off to the right, do they still offer a good view?

Some people think its very worth it and some don't. I've done it several times and tried to see Fantasmic once without the package...that was the one time it got rained out!

It depends on the time of year you go; if it's a busy time then yes, I think it's worth it.

All the seats are good but the best are in the center but they are all good, IMHO. Just don't sit up front unless you want to get a bit wet!

When we do the package, we arrive about 45 minutes before so there is still a wait but I'm guaranteed a seat if I arrive by 30 minutes before.

When I didn't do the package (in Sept - not crowded season) because DH wasn't there that trip, we got there an hour before and the middle was almost full but I got a good spot, unfortunately, it got rained out. :(

Because my DH and kids don't like to wait long, we always do the package (when DH is with us!).
