I am trying to create an eye spy type game for our 2 toddlers to play while driving to WDW from MA. I am looking for ideas of objects that I can pick and make a poster board type checklist for each with items to find/see that we will see along the way...any ideas.........at home we try to find a boat, certain types of trucks, a horse, a cow, a dog, etc. but wanted some more different ideas that I can trip relate too. Kids are 3 & 4 a boy and girl.

Thanks!!!!

great idea for the checklist! (i've got a post about putting together driving games for my 3 little ones here, too.."driving with preschoolers"). i was planning on doing different color cars and a trailer/camper being pulled, but we're doing more of an "i spy" type game where we'll keep looking for 1 object.

if you are doing a chart, how about state "welcome" signs (you can let the kids know when to start looking), different road signs (perhaps draw them/copy pictures for the chart), or a mobile home being pulled (my kids think it is SO funny to see 1/2 a house drive down the road!)? how about water towers, too?

if you're REALLY feeling ambitious, i bet if you post your route on the transportation board, someone might be able to give you some ideas for specific landmarks for your trip down (funny shaped water towers, big buildings, bridges, or tunnels, etc).

have fun,

how about counting mcdonalds? I bet you could get 100!
maybe you could modify the license plate game to find a plate of each color? what about looking for people who are sleeping passengers in other cars? Looking for people who are not wearing their seatbelt (hey, throw a safety lesson in there ;) ),

have fun,

I saw your other posted and that is what prompted this one...I have a bag of goodies we are taking too - coloring books, mini cards (mine like to play slapjack!!!), water paint books - the ones where you use a wet qtip to apply to a coloring book page that activates the paint, and a bunch of other stuff too, this is for when they are bored or eating or just watching the miles go by. Not sure if I'm going to have a list for me & dh and go 1 by 1 or if we're going to give them a picture board with a bunch of stuff to find yet - see whats easier or works better as we go. For some reason my family (it started with my little brother 8 yrs younger) likes to ask if "ya wanna buy a boat" everytime we go by a parked boat - my DS4 has turned this into every weird object we pass on the highway now - "ya wanna by a house" when they pass with the modular homes, etc. so I understand the humour with the 1/2 a house. We are thinking about the 84, 81, etc. pick up 95 further south route - but also looking into taking 95 all the way too so either way if anyone has some great tips that would be great. This is the longest trip we have ever taken & my longest drive ever - the longest before was ALbany NY so this will be an experience!!!

Happy Road Trip!

Some things I would put are:

Cows
horses
Semi Truck
'Red' truck
Police Car
'black' car
Telephone pole
Red barn
A lake
A Boat
Plane
A School Bus

As you turn on property- A MICKEY

How about putting one of those signs in your window "Mom & Dad will give us 5 cents for every honk...Please honk for $$$", and have them count the honks.

Good luck!
