I gave this some thought and really can't think of anything. I live a pretty plain life as that is the way I was raised. I can't think of anything I own that doesn't provide something important for me that costs me money unnecessarily.

I believe ppl have too much stuff in such storage units they even don't realize they'll never use again.

My useless crap doesn't cost me anything while it sits there and ages. I refuse to actually pay for something I am not using. Well, other than health insurance but that is not optional in MA.

I inherited an F-150 when my dad died. It costs about $1500 a year to keep between registration and insurance.

I know I could rent a truck whenever I needed a truck for cheaper than that but I keep it for the convenience.

Our home telephone number, this is a hill my husband is willing to die on.

Our storage unit, it is past time to get rid of all of that stuff. We do not use it and do not need it. A lot of it belonged to my husband's parents and it is a sentimental issue. Their china, old trunks that his dad used, kids' toys that we saved for our future grandkids that will not have. We both have hoarding tendencies and it is a bad combination. I work very hard at letting stuff go, him not so much. =/
