What, I'm Pregnant!?

Thanks so much to everyone for all of your comments. I know there are going to be many mixed opinions on this topic, but I appreciate all the input. I also wanted to ask, has anyone who decided to go ahead and ride all the rides while early in pregnancy experienced a complication or problem afterward?

I had a tear in my sac in the early stages with my second DS and didn't know it right away. Had I gone on any roller coasters, did any running, jumping, etc I would have miscarried. We found out about the tear somewhere between 6-8 weeks when I finally started bleeding from it. Because I had been taking it easy it self healed around 10 weeks. So I'm just throwing that out there for you. I'm sure it's fine most of the time, but I'd never risk it after having that experience.

I was about 6 weeks pregnant (and not knowing it) when I went to Great Adventure. I went on all the roller coasters and thank God all was well. Take it easy and listen to your body. Have fun and congrats!

No complications here at all other than the regular yucky pregnancy stuff and as previously posted, I went on many of the rides while in my first trimester including the waterpark, but no roller coasters or Tower of Terror. But I would like to note that I did go on Test Track and it was fine. I did go on Space Mountain thinking it would be okay and had it known how jerky it was I wouldn't have gone on it.

I went when I was 6 weeks pregnant with my first. I rode everything except the biggest "thrill" rides (ToT, RnRC, Dinosaur). EE wasn't around then, but I probably wouldn't have ridden that. My midwife said that riding anything would be fine since the baby is so protected. The main reason I didn't ride is because I was just starting with the queasiness and I wasn't sure I could handle it. My biggest issue was fatigue. I was so wiped out! I found benches to sit on often. But it was a great trip and we had such a good time. The best part was telling my mom that I was pregnant with my first baby right in front of the castle! She lives in a different state and we had met at Disney for a mini-vacation.

We went earlier this month and I was 16 weeks pg at the time. Although I hated it, I did sit out all the big rides. I figure there will be other trips to WDW and I can ride the rides then. My job right now is to do everything I can to keep this baby healthy & safe, so that's what I do.

Girl please, I went when I was about 8 weeks along and I rode everything under the sun. Yeah I had morning sickness but nothing else. I threw up or felt queesy and chalked it up to regular prego stuff. My dauther is now 10yrs old and just as crazy as I am and I think it may of had something to do with mommy riding all those big rides.

I will tell you this, I discussed it with my Dr. and he put it to me like this the baby is the size of a small peanut and I was like a big cushy pillow protecting my "lil nut". Had I been further along I think I would have sat out the big rides but still rode mostly everything. Do whatever it is that you, your husband and your Dr. think is best, but above all else have a wonderful trip. Remember Disney isn't just about rides, this may give you a chance to experience the other aspects of Disney loads of folks forget about.

T.

Ps. CONGRATS!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

After three pregnancies I can happily say I've never had morning, afternoon or evening sickness, but... I always got so tired I could barely stay awake, and had to nap two or three times a day, and this always set in right around the eighth week, so if this happens to you it may affect your ability to navigate through the parks never mind ride the rides.

Do you think you can make it through the parks; can you enjoy yourself even if you don't ride? If yes, then go. If you're not into being sick in public, or feel like you're wasting money to stand on the sidelines watching others ride, then reschedule for after the little one is born.

I went to DL when I was 15 weeks pregnant - I wasnt showing and had no morning sickness - my doctor said to use common sense with everything. The baby is well protected at that stage and most of the rides give those warnings so 8 month pregnant ladies arent trying to ride.

I didnt do Tower of Terror or Indiana Jones - which is jerky like Dinosaur - but I rode BTMRR with no problems and most everything else.

I think it really depends on your body and your pregnancy. I wouldnt cancel the trip, just do what you think it right.

So now my morning sickness has set in and while it's bearable(no throwing up yet, but nauseous) its definitely a constant part of my day. Has anyone canceled their trip or wished they had canceled because they felt sick while they were there?

I'm seven weeks now and I don't know that I'd want to be at Disney in the first trimester! I was a lot sicker with DD, but with this one I'm still feeling queasy and exhausted.

If your pregnancies aren't too bad in the first trimester, go for it. :) It wouldn't work for me, but everybody's different.
