No problem at all. Just tell them who is on the plan and who isn't. They'll even divide up the check if you want. However, just know that if you have 6 or more, both checks will still be charged the automatic gratuity.
If you are talking about a room reservation, like four people staying in one room, I'm almost positive you have to have all four people on the dining plan not just one or two.
The previous posters are both right. For a dinner reservation they can split the check for you. For a room reservation everybody in the room has to be on the plan. You can't have 2 people on a room reservation on the plan and 1 not on the plan.
