What if you have a fanny pack phobia?!?

If I take a backpack, and want to go on rides where I can't wear it, (i.e. Rockin Roller Coaster, etc.) do they let you leave them at the start of the ride where you board? I know that alot of the themeparks I have been too let us do this before.

We took our backpacks on rides like this. You just stick your legs through the armholes.

I'm not sure what they would do at the Rockin Roller Coaster - you board and exit the ride in two completely different places - this is also the case for a few others. There are some that you board and exit at the same spot and you would be able to leave your backpack.

I didnt read all of the replies, but I will offer my opinion on a solution. Sling backpacks. I got one for my camera and love it. I wont have to remove it to ride on anyrides. My kids have a messenger style bag same idea they wont have to take it off for rides. My wife has a backpack she will ahve to remove it everyride lol her choice.

I got a North Face Messenger Bag from EMS last year for my trip. It was on sale. It has many compartments in it. Been on many rides and no issues. Just DD and myself (at Disney) and we always get a locker for the just in case items. We keep minimal items with us. Cash, CCs, ID, tickets, room keys, sunglasses, sun tan lotion (small ones), klennex and hand wipes. Water we drink immediately. Neither of us feel like carrying water bottles around.

During moving day to this house I lost DHs "fanny pack".

They have smalled versions of the Jansport backpacks that I really like. I think it would hold just enough for running around the park. They sell them at department stores. And on their website.
