Our trip starts March 20 and while I do have some PS, I dont have them for every possible meal as I dont want to be held to a strict schedule. I mean normally we know that morning what we want to eat that night, so if they are all full now already, which many are, does that mean that basically we cannot eat at that restaraunt? I know in the past year we were able to still make PS that morning?

It depends on how busy it is. On really busy nights, I have seen walk-ins turned away. On less busy nights, if all PS slots are full, you may still be able to walk-in. But your wait will be long.

On less busy days, you can call that day and get a PS for the same night. I do that all the time.

Our first trip we got turned away from Le Cellier at about 4pm. They said PS only. From then on, I make at least one a day.

you may find that some nights it is just easier to eat a burger in the park or a turkey leg :earboy2: we very rarly eat at a sit down every night. so i wouldnt worry we find it easier to just go with the flow and wherever we are we aqlways find food lol :wave2:

Are you staying on site? If so, when you decide that morning where you'd like to eat, I would simply stop by the guest services desk at your resort. They can let you know what's available and put in a PS for you. Otherwise, each park has their own guest services area where you can check on dining options. It would save you from roaming around from place to place.

I remember at Epcot many years ago they had the information center as you entered the park. You could call from there and make reservations that very same day. I wonder if any seats are set aside for this still. I imagine that there are still many people who don't know about making arrangements 90 days in advance.

::yes:: i make at least one a day. we don't have to get to it (though we usually do), but that way if we want to eat sit down we can without a hassle.

We always make our PS before we leave for at least one meal a day. But we often go to the front desk and change our PS. But I noticed that the OPs dates are the week before Easter. No way would I attempt to go during that timeframe without PS for most of the week. It's not a big deal if you need to cancel. Resorts will be at capacity and getting into restraurants without a PS impossible. Even during my January MLK week trip, on 2 nights the CMs came out and announced to folks crowded at the door of the 50s PT that if they did not have a PS they could not accommodate them. Happened again at the Plaza during the MK EMH. Considering my week in January was no comparison to the Easter before and after weeks, I would try to come up with a tentative plan. Of course, if you like burgers, fries and pizza, then it's not really a problem. We just have our favorite restraurants and visit them often and regularly.

We've never made a PS and have never been turned away. We only eat 2 or 3 sitdown meals a trip.

I suspect the PS situation is changing....if the MYW dining plan is as popular as I believe it is, there will be a lot more people expecting to eat a sit down meal at dinnertime each day. Those who book PSs early will eat sitdown each evening where they want (at least where they wanted when they book). Those that book later will have to make choices. Those who book day of may find their options really reduced from previous years. Those who expect to walk into a MYW restaurant that they have never had a problem with before may be disappointed.

Some restaurants you can pretty much be guaranteed to be turned away for dinner without a PS. (Le Cellier, Chefs de France, as examples.)
Try Morocco, Norway, or most of the resort restaurants. Even those may be busy. But there will be a chance.
The more popular restaurants sometimes do just turn away walk ups. Some restaurants will allow guests to wait, but it will be a lonnnnnng wait. More than what you may be willing to wait.

If you don't mind eating late, you can usually gat a PS that afternoon. If it is really busy, I would make it early in the day.

Even in off times, PS's at Epcot in the afternoon can be difficult for the popular times.
