What if you are late to ADR?

We have Fantsmic package in HS at 6:30 show. Finally able to get Cal Grill res for 7:45 in Cont. Can We make it and if we don't what happens? Res desk said they would hold for 20 min and then try to fit in. ANyone ever been late?

Pretty much what they said - they will most likely hold it for 15 minutes or so, then after that - you will be just like a standby guest - might get in, might not.

That said - I think it would be difficult to make that ADR time, it depends on crowds leaving Fantasmic, what time the park is closing - which will effect how many people are leaving the parking lot, etc.

First of all you are doing a Fantasmic package and Ca. Grill on the same day? That is a lot of food. Is it a lunch Fantasmic package?

Usually if you are more than 15 minutes late (Ca. Grill told you 20) you will go back into the "standby" line, or if the restaurant is fully booked you are out of luck. The other thing you need to remember is that there is a no-show fee for California Grill.

If you are using Disney transportation, you will likely need to take a bus from DHS to the Contemporary which may take you awhile (if you are leaving at park closing there may be crowds for the buses). At least I believe the Contemporary will be the first stop for that bus.

I was just coming back to mention that - a Fantasmic package and dinner on the same day?

while i don't see a problem doing 2 table service in one day... we always use the dxddp... you may want to look into an epcot dinner or something at the yc/bc/bwi area and take the boat over after fantasmic!

i'm just not sure that i'd chance the no show fee at CG. i'm not saying to drop CG from all your plans because it's one of our absolute favorites--just maybe re-route your plans.
