First of all...let's hope that doesn't happen. But, if it does, DCL will simply modify the itinerary to include different ports if it needs to avoid the storm. On a positive note, I think I read out here a while ago that, although they have modified itineraries in the past, they have never cancelled a cruise.
I think it's highly unlikely that they will cancel a cruise, but they do have to alter the itinerary from time to time (most recently this week, I think). I have taken all of my cruises during the fall (hurricane season), and have been re-routed on one of them. Just be prepared for the fact that this may happen. On our trip, we altered the 7-day eastern to this:
Sun: Key West
Mon: At sea
Tue: At sea
Wed: St. Thomas
Thu: At sea
Fri: Castaway Cay
The Magic has also called at San Juan. Some trips get a second stop at Castaway Cay. The Wonder will sometimes substitute a day at sea for a call in the Bahamas. Last year, it called at Charleston, SC during the season.
Don't worry, the ship will sail, and they'll avoid the storms. They have very sophisticated equipment to track and predict the storms, so they'll stay well clear of them.
The Magic is currently on an altered itinerary because of Hurricane Lili. Lili was too close to the scheduled ports of call for this week... Key West, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Instead, the passengers on the Magic this week get to visit Castaway Cay twice(!!!), and went to San Juan, P.R. and St Thomas, USVI.
