What if the adult in the cabin has to cancel?

Anyone have to switch around who is in each cabin? My adult son usually stays in the room with our teens, and he just got a job and may not be able to vacation with us this year. That means that there isn't an adult booked in the room. I was going to call DCL and switch us around so that there is an adult in each room just in case he can't make it. Anyone have to do this? Do they just switch the names or do they have to rebook and charge the current rate? I'm going to be so upset if we have to pay more....I'm one of those crazy people that book as soon as the dates are released. Final payment isn't due until March 2018.

You can call DCL and have the names on the reservations moved around.

Thank you. You were correct. I booked through Costco and we just switched around so that DH and I are the primary on each cabin. Price stayed the same. For giggles, they checked to see if it would save us money if we moved all 4 of us into one cabin, if my oldest DS can't come with us. It was $1200 more to be in one cabin. Yikes.... it pays to book early!

Wow, are you sure they looked that up correctly? You would only have to add 2 passengers to an already booked stateroom -- so as 3rd and 4th passengers that's an outrageous increase to be $1200 more. It sounds more like the TA quoted as if you were completely booking 4 passengers new. But I guess it doesn't matter since you shifted the adults around. Glad that worked out for you.

Enjoy your cruise!

We just added a 3rd person to our cabin which we originally booked last April. The 3rd person charge was almost exactly the same as the fares for each of the first 2 passengers. I assume it was because the cost of the cruise had gone up quite a bit since we booked.

If you add a third person to an already existing reservation, they are charged the current price for a 3rd person, not the price a third person would have been if they had been on the original reservation. So, yes, it's likely the prices had increased enough that #3 was charged the same as the first two were.

Yes, you are correct. I looked it up and the price she quoted was for 4 (2A, 2K) in a 7A at the current rate. If my oldest decides not go and we moved our 2 DS into our room, our total package would be $1430 less than if we kept our 7A for DH&I and our 11A for 2 DS. That savings would cover our hotel stay in Vancouver. I guess I'll cross that bridge if it comes to that. I'm just hoping that my oldest can come along. Thank you for your response, it was good to recheck and look over all the numbers....it's a big buck vacation no matter how we do it!

If you have to switch rooms, you're locked into the cost of the new room on the day you made the original reservation. You won't be charged current price.
