What if people were only as cool as their shoes? Dec09 TR. last hours at Disney pg19

:( :( another of the same post, I swear this computer is haunted, it keep sposting the same thing, even when I'm not here it keeps adding.

Ok - so my dog woke me up at one - let him out - checked in here and have been loyal since.

That sounds like a country song. :lmao:

Read and laughed!

Glad she got her suitcase and glad you look like you had a pretty great time!

Can't wait for the rest.

How is the daily grind at the Bed...or Bath...and what exactly is Beyond?

Ty,what an awesome Christmas present from your dh.A trip to Disney!!! I need to learn your secrets, cause that is what I have been hinting around for dh's and my 25th anniverssary trip in Aug 2010,and he is still being an old stubborn goat about us going to Disney. Congrats!! I love going in January,it is a great time to go.
Poor Jane getting sick while in Disney, and wow, your leg really looked swollen.I hope it didn't put a damper on your trip, but I am guessing your alot like me when in Disney....you go until there is no more go left in ya. lol. Glad to hear your reviews of Whispering Canyon too. That is one of the adr's we didn't make on my last trip.I am also glad that your mom seemed to be really enjoying herself at Disney, getting excited over the fireworks on the boat ride,I can see how that would be really special for a first timer.I think you all seemed to have a wonderful first day together, and I am anxiously waiting to read about the rest of your trip.

Wow! You scored. A trip to Disney for Xmas, you lucky girl. Every present I opened, I hoped for one, nothin. I was hoping I didn't look too disappointed. I'm pretty sure the crying, kicking, screaming, throwing things (including the tree) and drinking didn't give it away.

Oh, well. I don't get my solo trip but we are talking about something right before xmas this year. Either Disney or a cruise (non disney).

You got busted, you got busted!! :rotfl:Too Funny!

I must be going crazy, it's not as fun as I thought it would be, I always thought going crazy would be like going to Disney World because every time I do go to Disney all my friends and fam damily tell me I'm crazy. Bu tthis is nothing like crazy. nothing at all. (although I do have to say for being crazy today my hair looks pretty good)

DIZNEYDAWN: I know you posted, I saw it on my e-mail notification, I came here to read it but there is no post from you showing. :confused3
How crazy is that? is it me or is it the computer?

I have to leave for work now, I hope I can get through the day. I will try to update tonight.

I told my sister that I thought I was going crazy and it wasn't much fun, she told me that going crazy isn't fun but once you get there, "Full on crazy" it's a $hitload of fun.
Something to look forward to I guess.

Bummer about the rain, but it looks kinda clear at AK. Hope it ws. Poor Janis I hope she felt better soon.

The rain only gto worse that day. We tried to make the best of it.

I starting to like this forum. Now if Tiger Woods can say out of trouble maybe I will get some work done.
Yea, I am a little sick of hearing about TIger Woods too, he was all over the news while I was at Disney.

You're right! I was on soda duty that week, so that Lynn could get a little extra sleep in the morning. We originally planned to go to Magic Kingdom that morning, but when we got to the bus lines it was crazy so I changed the plan on the fly (with minimal twitching) and we went to EPCOT instead. Not sure how AK weather was but we were in some serious rain at EPCOT.

BTW, you were totally popular the entire time we were on our trip. Lynn played hidden Mickey and I played find Ty.
You had soda duty? Marzi and I were given that job, well hot chocolate duty.
I believe you about the serious rain at Epcot, it made it's way to AK too. I like the idea of being able to change your plans on the fly, that's my goal for my next trip. Not to constantly change plans but to be able to able to change them on the fly as well.
You played find Ty, how cool. Guess what, you are the winner!:woohoo::cheer2:

That does sound like a country song, put it to music and take it to Nashville, you got something there girl!

Keep workin on your DH, it took me 5 years to wear my hubby down.
My leg swelled up huge at times, I will post pics as the TR goes along, but you are right I would have kept going till my leg fell off then probably still kept going.

You got busted, you got busted!! :rotfl:Too Funny!

Sorry there was no Disney trip under the tree for you, there's always Valentines day?:confused3 Tell the DH how much you love Disney and just what (or who):lmao: you are willing to do to get back there. ;) Maybe I should have Kent call your Hubby and give him some hints?

Oh I would have been willing to do "just" about anything. Okay, hope for Valentines Day, Check!

Yes, Yes, have him call. That may just be the motivation he needs. Right now we are stuck in the house ALL DAY TOGETHER! This is too much togetherness. I go back to school next week and I can't wait. But that's only a couple hours a day.

Soooooooooooooooo, why are you going crazy? What's up girl?

We first stopped to pick up a park map, 1. to know where the heck to go. 2. to know where the fresh air treatment centers are.:smokin:
Not that we needed a treatment then, it's just nice to know where.
The first thing we wanted to do was go to it's tough to be a bug, I really like this show and I had my Mom all hyped for it too, Marzi was a little nervous because I told her spiders drop down, but I do think they give you some warning first.
It was really starting to rain then, there were no dodging those rain drops, umberellas or as we call them umbershoots were a total must, I was so glad Mom had brought one for me, and Marzi was borrowing Janis's, so we were staying relatively dry.
We headed into the bowels of the tree, checking out all the carvings along the way, Marzi said her Dad would love this place, I think my Dad would really like it too, the difference is she could probably get her Dad to go, mine probably never will, if you can't fish it or hunt it, he doesn't care.
We stopped to take pictures with the big gorilla face, there was a couple there getting a pic so we waited our turn, now I don't know what the CM there was on, but she yelled at us to get out of the way of other people.
We were already off to the side and there wasn't anybody behind us. ***?? <----guess you can't say W T F I got filtered
We all just looked at her like she was nuts, we might have even said she was nuts, I do know that I did NOT!!!! give her a "Thank you for adding to the magic" card with a piece of candy attatched to it, those were reserved for nice CM's, cool CM's, Happy CM's, not grumpy CM's who don't know what they are talking about, and I have to say she was the only CM like that on the whole trip. (maybe she was new and hadn't read the handbook yet) Smiling at Disney is not optional and yelling at guests for no reason is not recommended!
Mom handed out most of her thank you cards in the first 24 hours, we were running low on them , I had only made 25 so I had to start being a little stingy with them, I would have loved to have given one to everybody who I crossed happy paths with, but there were just too many great CM's.

Anywho, we took our picture and went further into the bowels of the tree, (that tree has deep bowels) We liked saying the bowels of the tree, it was fun for us, till Marzi said the tree has deep bowels and all of us in it are little $hits!
Really Marzi? I mean really? because I wasn't being literal, why did you have to go and be literal?
I tried to get a pic of Mom and me in our super cool bug goggles, I couldn't figure out my camera settings, I said I don't play with this thing enough to know how it works. Marzi said "That's what she said." She made my mother blush!
alldis09007.jpg

it was a little dark, so I kept playing around with the camera and finally got a decent shot of Marzi and me.
alldis09008.jpg

I should have gotten a better one of me and mom but it was time to go in.
we found our seats, we were in the second row, it was just too close for me, everything seemed blurry, last time I went I sat in the middle of the theater and had no problems so I am going to say the blurriness was because of our location and not because my eyes were old and shriveling like Marzi suggested. She is the queen of one line zingers and she was on a roll that day. What a yanger!!!!
The only thing of this show that stands out in my mind was when the spiders did drop, Marzi lets out a squeal (not of delight either) and jumped onto my lap burrying her face in my shoulder. I hugged her tight, because I'm a god friend like that. (I said "God" friend, I'm going to totally leave that typo, but really I meant good friend, I am not God!)
Once the show was over and we left the bowels of the tree, we got out the map to see what we should do next, Dinosour sounded like a good morning idea and there was a smoker zone close to it, so thats the way we headed, on the way though we saw the postings for Finding Nemo the musical, there was a show starting in 5 minutes, "C'mon Ma get a move on it I got a fish to find."
we made it in the nick of time, there was a couple in the last row who did not by Disney law move all the way to the end of the row, and when we showed up to get some seats, they made us climb over them, and the Man had the nerve to tell me to watch out for his bag on the floor. That irked me, seriouly you could hold the bag on your lap, just until I pass you by, but no, I have to hurdle this bag, what in God's name did he bring to the park that he needed a bag of such epic proportions? what was in there? Marzi and I had fun guessing, we decided it was grandma, the man was too cheap to buy her a ticket, he had to wait until the theater was dark enough before he could let her out.
I loved this show, I think it was very entertaining and well put together. I had heard it was good but really I had no idea just how good it was. I got some tears, just some little ones, they didn't even need a hanky, they were so small they just kind of absorbed back into my skin.
Mom absolutely loved this show and she felt so awful that Janis had missed it, Mom also said that Dad would enjoy that show too, but serioulsy unless he could fish it, he will never go. Poor Dad.
Marzi said she liked what she saw but had slept through most of it. she said once she got warm there was no stopping the ZZZZzzzzz's, she said her family was planning a tri for a few years down the road and she would see it then.
when we left the theater it was raining HARD!!! we decided to try dinosour then but wanted some fresh air first. So we dropped Mom off in one of the shops and went for a smoke, let me tell you I was feeling miserable, I don't mind the rain, I really don't but it was raining so hard it was coming off my umbershoot in sheets. my pant legs were wet, my feet were cold, I just wasn't feeling any Disney Magic at that time. I wasn't hating on Disney or the weather I just wasn't feeling it, ya know?
We went in the shop and found Mom, now I have to say this about mom, she doesn't shop and look just for herself she is all about noticing things that others like too and I don't mind this....too much. but every 5 seconds, Ty, come look, oh TY you have got to see this, Ty they have watches, Ty did you see the ears, Ty Ty Ty, I hate my name when I'm out shopping with my mom, I want to shop on my own too, let me shop Mom. let me look I will get to that side of the store in a minute! (rant over)
I had started out wearing my ears that I had gotten on a previous trip, on this day they were giving me a headache I was in search of ears that wouldn't hurt. I totally fell in love with these ones.
alldis09009.jpg

How cute are these, but I didn't get them just incase I ever go to Disney in the spring I couldn't lock myself into winter ears. Marzi really liked these ears.
alldis09010.jpg

Mom is all about Goofy and really liked these ears.
alldis09011-1.jpg

Even though we all liked our ears none of us purchased them. Marzi found a crush plush and bought it for her niece who loves turtles, she left to go check out while Mom and I looked for something for Jazzlynn, Marzi came back to me and said the CM gave her her change like this
alldis09012.jpg

It's a hidden mickey, she was so excited, "Ty, it really is the small things that make the magic." She went back over and gave the CM a Thank you card.
Mom and I had no luck finding anything for Jazz, but I did find a watch set that I liked, it was a simple square face with a black mickey head in the middle but you can switch out the bands for all the seasons, all together it had seven bands, the watch was $39.99 but wow it actually is 7 interchangeable watches, I was stoked with this purchase.
After we were done shopping we headed over to ride dinosour, I wasn't sure if Mom should ride this, it is such a jerky ride and she had back surgery a year ago, so Marzi and I said we would ride it first and be the judges, we dropped Mom off in the dump shop and went to get in line, on the way I stepped in a huge puddle of water and my shoe filled with water. I had a toddler melt down at that point. I already had kind of wet feet and they were cold, now they were soaked feet and squishy and cold. We got in line and watched the movie with claire huxtable (we didn't watch it with Claire Huxtable, she wasn't sitting there watching it with us I mean, she was in the movie, glad I got that cleared up, I really don't want you thinking I am a name dropper, although I did meet John Candy back in his alive days) then we got on the ride, we were seated all the way in the back, I have always sat in the front, I was wondering if there would be much of a difference. There was. It was so violent back there, that jeep tossed my @ss all over the crestacian times, at one point point my but flew up and my feet came out to the side and I was sitting freaking sideways for a second, it was hard to hold on. At the end of the ride Marzi declared it her favorite and we both judged it to be too harsh for the delicate Mother bones!
We left the ride and found mom waiting by the dump shop door. She looked like she wasn't feeling Disney right now either, so I knew what wouldfix all of us and that was FOOD!

Yes, do not give up hope, especially since there are so many important Holidays coming up, like Valentines Day of course, and ground hog day, St. Patricks day, Me and Kents wedding anniversary, I don't know how your DH would feel about giving you a present for me and Kents anniversary, but we have to try every holiday right?

What's making me go crazy is this effed up computer. I posted last night and then the same post kept popping up, then this morning it popped up again, I tried to post something else it didn't show up at all, then I come home from work and theres more of the same posts from last night plus the post I tried to do this morning.

Oh yeah and it's really cold here, I think it's freezing my brain cells and slowing down function. (if it gets much slower I will be in a coma)

I'm glad it was during John Candy's alive days that you met him....:thumbsup2

Dinosaur freaked me out! I'm all for scary rides, but I was holding my six year old DD in front of me as an offering to the horrid T-Rex that tried to bite off my head.

Enjoying living vicariously through your trip, even though I am mad jealous of your Christmas present! How very cool!

We were in Epcot during the rain and did not enjoy the soaking we got. That was the day we met up with Jo and Den at Mexico for Margaritas. I wish I was back in Disney even in the rain. Dan did give me a Disney trip for my Birthday in May so I will get to go back sooner than I thought. We are going May13th thu 19th do I have a great hubby or what.:love:

A quadruple post!! Really!? I went to bed last night with only having goofed three times, then wake up to find another duplicate post from me, Am I going crazy?

It's been happening to everyone. It did the same thing to me yesterday. Although I have to say....what your seeing with the tripple posts, it doesn't show up here. :confused3 I think your the only one seeing it, so that's a good thing. The silver lining for this is that your post count goes up. :goodvibes

We got off the boat and as we were walking on the dock Mom says "Ew gross, there's a slimey boogar like thing on me, I wonder if a kid wiped it on me when we were in the crowd of people."

Eeewww...

Janis found some lip balm, beaver butt and moose spit were 2 of the flavors, yummo!

You could pair it up with the soap I found in the Canada shop at Epcot (and didn't buy, and STILL wish I had...) :rotfl2:

I hate my name when I'm out shopping with my mom, I want to shop on my own too, let me shop Mom. let me look I will get to that side of the store in a minute! (rant over)

:guilty: I am so guilty of this! I just get so excited when I see something I have to share it with someone! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :lmao: That would be a GREAT tag!!!

I only said John Candy's alive days because I had told a friend I had met John Candy and she said "But he's dead." I never once before thought I would have to elaborate on that, but now I feel the need to.:lmao:

Good thing you had an offering for the T-Rex, I think of all those poor childless couples who have no kids to offer up.:guilty:

It is such an awesome gift to get, since he wasn't able to book it yet it was a voucher with $200 and a promise to add to it every month until we go. It works for me.

I really wanted to meet for Margaritas, we had our Planet Hollywood ADR's that night. I did look for you at WCC, but I had no idea what you looked like, so I kept loking around hoping you would spot me and give me a holler.
That rain was wicked that day, my feet were so water logged it was nasty.

I think my triple posts don't show up because I edit it and write triple post, everytime you see triple, quadruple or what not it's because I deleted the post with the same message, does that make sense?
I like having my post count go up but it's not the same as having them go up from others postings, it's kind of like winning prom queen when you voted for yourself 10 times. I never did that, I was never prom queen, and if I was I would have never voted for myself.:rolleyes1

Eeewww...
I know, I still get the dry heaves thinking about it.

You could pair it up with the soap I found in the Canada shop at Epcot (and didn't buy, and STILL wish I had...) :rotfl2:I think I need to read that TR, it's on my list.

:guilty: I am so guilty of this! I just get so excited when I see something I have to share it with someone! :rotfl:I do the same thing too, but seriously she calls me over to show me something, I start looking and she's off somewhere else screaming for me to come look at that, it's never ending.

Do we get to see a picture???I really should take pictures of all my purchases, I would have to start a new thread, "Ty's Disney purchases" it's funny because I went to Disney with a list.
1. A disney Mug
2. An ornament
3. T-shirt
4. Hoodie
5. A towel

I didn't buy any othose things but I did buy all sorts of other things, I will get pics and post ASAP

:rotfl2: :lmao: That would be a GREAT tag!!!

I used to long for a tag, maybe some day:rolleyes:

I *finally* found you!

Great TR so far, sorry about it being a icky rainy day. I know it was raining on Friday something horrible on Dec 4th, when I got there. Holy Buckets!!! Thankfully, this was not a park day.

Were you able to buy new shoes? Putting back on wet shoes - even Crocs 0 can't be a happy thing.

Haunted Mansion is one of my favs! I don't think I ever noticed a ghost under the the ballroom scene? It's my fav part!

I also did a Hidden Mickey tour on this trip. Ooohh, so much fun!!! I would ahve told you where they were. I had my book with me. ;) :thumbsup2

Hope your ankles held up for your trip!

So glad the luggage was in the room! It's hard to relax whne you are worried!

Looking forward to more TR. popcorn::

You were so lucky to not be in a park on Dec 4th. It was bad, if it were at least warm outside I wouldn't have lost one minute of caring about the weather at all, but it was cold and we were feeling miserable for it.

I looked at shoes, it will be in the TR, I don't want to give it away. Rain and my shoes were a huge issue though.

I love haunted mansion too, more so then pirates of the Carribean, it passed it as my favorite. I had never noticed the the dead ghost under the table either until Marzi pointed it out to me, I had never even noticed that the chair was tipped over. How crazy is that? After that we kept looking for other things too.

My ankle held up great, my knee didn't fare as well, but again that's for the TR. I want to spill the beans now but I also have to keep some sort of suspense.;)

Food, all of a sudden that is all that was on our minds. We pulled out the map and found Flame Tree Barbque, just seeing it on the map made my stomache growl.
Getting there was hard to do, I was trying to avoid the puddles and they seemed to be every where, I was moving pretty fast and kept leaving Mom behind, Marzi was cool and stayed behind to keep Mom company, Mom wasn't used to my fast pace of walking and Marzi and I had a hard time of going slow, I think I might have already touched on this subject, but I could tell Mom was feeling a bit annoyed at always being left behind, in my defense we always went back to get her.

Flame Tree, finally, and the lines were non existent. Only one family ahead of us. I knew right away I wanted the ribs, the same with Mom, Marzi got a sandwhich, we called Janis to see if she wanted someting from there, she said she didn't. I didn't want to order her food then anyway because it would just get cold before we got back to the resort, Mom didn't see this point and insisted on calling her anyway. But it all worked out and I'm only complaining now for the heck of it.;)
Mom left to go find us a table, and it wasn't long before our food was ready and Marzi and I went in search of Mom.

(on my soap box now) People, if you see somebody coming your way with a loaded tray of food, especially if they are climbing steps, even just a few steps, do not look them in the eye and choose that time to stop infront of them to fix whatever you need to fix in your empty stroller, take two steps to the side, I am not asking for much, but having to walk around you while loaded down with everybody's food and drinks only manages to tick me off and shoot you down with my sarcasm!!! I am not apologizing for my sarcasm either, you earned every word of my sarcastic speech)off my soap box.

"Really!? I mean really, you think this is the time to mess with your stuff, hello, step to the side or risk being covered in food."

Marzi backs me up with a REALLY!

it was the weather causing my outburst I'm sure but what was causing their stupidity?

SO we find Mom, she absolutely had to choose the table next to the Waltons, or Jon and Kate plus 8, or the table for 12 people, regardless of who they were there were tons of them. And the man of the group stood up to eat his food, which is fine but it put his @ss at my face. I could have moved but then my back would have been to the crowd and that would have caused an anxiety attack, so I chose to stay where I was and deal with the @ss. They left soon after we got there, but I am telling you the one line zingers (have to explain really quick here, I totally messed up the spelling of zingers and accidentally spelled it "zongets". of course I fixed it but thought it was funny and wanted to share)
anywho the one line zingers coming from Marzi had me and mom rolling. I should have written it down, it was funny. I know a couple times she threatened to throw a duck at the man, because the ducks pecking at her feet and the mans butt in our faces were so annoying. She couldn't find a clean napkin and the guy almost got barbque sauce wiped on his butt.
"Move it or I'll use it mister."

The ribs were a little fatty and hard to eat, what I did eat was so good, the beans were good, the cole slaw was very good, but then came time for the keylime pie. I am not akeylime pie kinda girl, but I wasn't in the mood for chocolate (again I blame the weather, I just wasn't myself) but really with that first bite of pie, I think the clouds parted and for a second I saw heaven.
"Momma try the pie RIGHT NOW!"
Mom took a bite and I think she saw heaven too, I made Marzi try a bite, she said it was ok, REALLY!? it's just ok, I wasn't going to end our new found friendship over this but if it were anybody else but Marzi, it would have been over!!!!

I gobbled my dessert down like it was the last one on earth and then just sat back and relaxed, just radiating in the memory of that delicious keylime pie. Was it better then the chocolate cake at WCC. You bet it was.

While waiting for Mom and Marzi to finish eating their dessert, I looked over my purchases again, asking myself if I spent to much money too soon. looking at my watch set I amswered myself, "No way, Jose."
purchases002-2.jpg

Let's all take a look at my watch set now. See 7 choices here, that means I got 7 watches for $39.99, it is so worth it. I can't wait to wear my valentines watch now. I am so cool!!!!!

I got the map out again and was looking at what else we needed to do today.
"We could go on the Safari, but I know riding in that truck is going to be cold."

Mom and Marzi both said pass at the same time.

"We could go to a show, I heard Festival of the Lion King is really good."

Mom asked me what I wanted to do. "Truth is I want to go back to the resort, my feet are so cold and wet that my toes burn."

Marzi was all for that and so was mom. so we finished up our meals, well they did I drank some more of my soda and then we cleaned up our table and left.

Marzi and I were looking for a new place to smoke, we found one just outsideof the park, mom went into the shop to wait for us.

It's raining so hard now that it's hitting the ground and flying 6 inches or more back up into the air.
Marzi and I are looking at eachother like we are nuts,I tell her that only idiots stand out in a rainy mess like this to smoke.

The rain was so much that every where was a puddle, I couldn't pick and choose where to sep my feet anymore, it was horrible, my pant legs were wet up to my knees now.

We went into the store and found Mom, I found little tiny Mickey clips for my hair, they were like 60 cents each so I got 2 just for those out of control hair days, which is most days really.

Mom had found a Dumbo ornament and wanted to get it for Jazz, she kept thinking and rethinking about gettting it, this guy finally told her, "If you like it, then get it now because Dumbo ornaments are hard to find." So Mom got it, it is so cute.
I hadn't really found anything I had to have, I liked the blanket they had, it was one of those deals, spend $40 and get the blanket for like $15, Mom was spending $40, (she got something else too beside the ornament I just can't remember what) anyway I asked her if I gave her the $15 would she get me the blanket and because she loves me she said yes. SO I went over and got the blanket, they didn't have this offer when I bought my watch, all they had for the special was the tote bag, anyway as I'm getting my blanket Marzi holds up a pocket book and it was instant love, I had to have the pocket book, I had to have the cute wallet too, even though the wallet didn't match the pocket book I still had to have it. Impulse buy maybe, but I don't regret it still, so maybe not.

I no longer needed to ride piggy back on mom's purchase to get my blanket, I was spending well over $40. But mom had given me my birthday and my Christmas money plus kent had given me money, it's all good, lets spend, spend, spend!!!!

My awesome just had to have it wallet, I keep tide to go in my pocket book in order to keep this thing looking white. it's worth it.

Marzi also bought the pocket book, but she calls it a purse, whatever!!!!

With purchses in hand we leave the store, and make our way to the bus stop, a bus was waiting for us and there were only 2 other families on the bus. One guy made a little stink about taking his baby out of her stroller before getting on the bus. The bus driver said it was the law, she couldn't stay in the stroller because all strollers had to be folded up. The guy apologized, said he didn't mean to be rude, he had just gotten the baby to sleep and really didn't want to deal with her screaming again."

The baby stayed sleeping though.
The bus was so warm, it felt so good, I wanted to take my shoes off and ring out my socks, really you do not know how hard I had to fight that temptation. I was chewing my nails to keep from doing that.
Marzi and I got out our pocket books and were giving them a good looking over, "ooohhh, it has a zipper pocket inside, yes!!! alright a place for my cell phone, yes!!!"

Then....then........ the theme to Laverne and Shirley came on the radio, :woohoo:
We had to sing and we only got louder at our favorite verse.

There is nothing we won't try
Never heard the word IMPOSSIBLE
this time, there's no stopping us.

We used to sing that all the time as kids while riding our bikes around the neighborhood. Mom was smiling so big. "I'm so happy you girls found eachother again." When my Mom smiles and means it, her cheeks are so rosey and her eyes glisten, Mom truly is happy for us, she knows how much I missed Marzi and how long I had been looking for her, Mom cried the day I told her that I found Marzi. I was so happy in that minute, wet feet, cold toes, straight stringy hair, sore knee, it didn't matter, I had Marzi again, were at Disney celebrating our reunion, and I had my Mom with me too.
