What if people were only as cool as their shoes? Dec09 TR. last hours at Disney pg19

so dinner is through, we tally up the tip and leave, I didn't want to walk and I didn't want go back out in the cold, I had no choice.

The boat was just docking as we got there so we had a small wait while they got it ready for us, I was shivering so loud, Marzi and I were huddling together to keep warm, I probably did her some good I was big enough to go around, but Marzi...not so much.
The boat didn't have an inside, we were stuck in the wind my shivering became loud and violent. I sounded like a sheep baaahing, which brought the giggle from everyone around.
We got to see the fireworks finale for MVMCP from the boat, it was spectacular, Mom loves fireworks and this just tickled her pink, she thought the whole night was special and then it got topped of with fireworks while on a boat ride. My eyes were frozen but I could hear the fireworks, they sounded cool.

We get off the boat and make the long walk to our bus stop and the line is so long for the buses. I know we will either be standing or we will not even make it on the next bus at all. I tell Marzi I don't want to stand on the bus and I will wait for the next one if that's the case, she pretty much in the nicest way possible called me an idiot,"Either way you're gonna be standing, you either stand on the bus or you stand while waiting for the next bus."
That made total sense, so when the bus showed up I plowed ahead, we were the last ones on and yea it was standing room only.
Katie and her friend were seated in the very first seat behind the driver, her firend offered her seat to Mom who offered it to me for my leg but I said no I was fine. I wasn't fine, I just don't like a big deal or even a small deal to be made about me, I like to ignore things like my health. (just in public, at home I'm a big baby)
So Mom sat next to Katie and they talked the whole ride back to Pop Century. I think Mom gave Katie her whole life story from DNA till present. Mom doesn't know a stranger.
When the ride was over we all said our goodbyes, walking back to the room Mom said she really liked katie, she was a nice girl and thought it was neat that she too got to meet a diser.

WE go up to our room, Marzi is the first one inside and she screams "It's here, my bag is here." Then she grabbed me and hugged me, "Now I can totaly relax and just have a good time."

Marzi jumped into the shower first, while she was in there I took off my shoe and sock

My leg was a little swollen, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I popped some advil and a Hydrocodone then once Marzi was out of the shower I jumped in. I could not get the water hot enough so it was a short shower. I got on my jammies then marzi and I went out front for some fresh air, we each called our DH's talked for abit then went back in the room, Mom and Janis were already in bed, Janis wasn't feeling well and had to take some cold medicine, she had already lost her voice,
we set the alarm for 7:30am and went to sleep.

Our first day at the parks was fun, I couldn't wait for the rest. I did a bad job taking pictures but I tried to makeup for it the next day. I will try and do another update in a day or two.

Your mother's reaction to the castle was absolutely priceless. And soooo sweet.

Okay, seriously - how funny is the rabbit wearing a bra? I would have never thought it looked like a bra until you pointed it out. But it does, it looks like a black bra!

WCC - I'm so glad that you had a good experience there. I will never eat there again, so long as I live. You'll find out why, coming up in my TR.

Well, I guess that about wraps up what I wanted to say. I'm sure there was more I wanted to comment on, but I can't remember now. Can't wait to hear the rest! This is an awesome TR. You guys are totally cracking me up over here.

WCC seems like the place to go when you're a couple days into your trip. Doing on the first day seems very tiring. Glad you enjoyed it though!

That cake was soooo good, I couldn't finish all of it and that broke my heart, nothing as wonderful like that should ever go to waste. but then again I was feeling pretty good about not finishing it, one of my biggest fears was gaining back the 20 pounds I had lost before the trip,

I love desserts of all kinds, and I hate to waste food anyway, but I also struggle with my weight.

I love the hokey pokey. One of the guys who wrote the song just recently died.

Then again, my ankles look pretty swolllen the day I get off of a plane, I never have a problem with them swelling any other time but then. Go figure. Ouch! I hope your leg didn't suffer like that everyday of the trip! I agree with WCC. We loved the food, but it was way loud. The kids enjoyed it, but our server wasn't nearly as entertaining as some of them so my kids gave lots of longing glances to the tables with the servers that really got into it. Ours just acted grouchy.

I'm tryin gto get this done while I still remember alot of it, I only journaled the first 5 days I was there, It was such a fun trip.

I had a great Christmas, Kent gave me a trip to Disney for January 2011, he wants to go with me, I'm so excited.

I got your Christmas card, Thank you. I plan to get my cards out this weekend, super late I know but when you take a trip to Disney in December it kind of puts all your normal Christmas routines on hold.

The ankle didn't hurt, the skin felt tight but that was about it.
If I ever try WCC again I will do it a couple days in like you said, the food was really good.

I love dessert as much as the main meal, if I feel myself getting full on dinner I will quit eating just so I can enjoy dessert, it's a rule!

I tried to take it easy on my leg, my mom kept wanting me to get a wheel chair, it became an issue and I will be posting more pictures of the leg, it actually became hilarious at one point. I did swell a little on the plane too, more so then usual.

Marzi is always a good sport about everything, that's why she's not a total yanger.

We did do alot for such an early to rise day, I think we were runnin gon adrenalin, we were winding down at dinner, thank god for the chocolate cake, it gave me just enough oomph to get back to the resort.

The leg suffered alot, we were all trading our pain pill drugs halfway into the trip, it really was funny.
Our server at WCC was so into character, she was practically forcing us to ask for ketchup, we didn't need any though, she just kept coming back, "Need ketchup yet? you sure?"

The alarm goes off at 7:00am none of us lolly gag around, we are all up and getting our showers and what not....except for Janis, she was sick, she wouldn't be able to make it to Animal Kingdom with us today, I was trying to rework the schedule in my head so I could fit in AK again down the road for her, I had to settle for a wait and see but for the mean time we would try and go again on our last day.

I normally take my make up off before bed but was too tired the night before so I didn't notice until that morning that I had left my face wash at home, I remembered my moisturizer and make up, just not my face wash, so I had to use the Disney face bar of soap, my skin was going to hate me for this, it's bad enough that the minute my skin finds out I am crossing state lines it automatically breaks out, but now I am going to be using a foreign face wash too?!!!!!

I had blow dried my hair and just plugged in my curling iron when Marzi opened the door, the sky was gray and it was raining and a little bit windy, so I unplugged the curling iron, it would really just be a waist of time.
I also then noticed while gettin gdressed I forgot to pack tennis shoes, I only brought crocs, which is fine except for rainy days, your feet get wet, on a warm day this would be no problem but on a cold day I knew I was going to have cold feet. So I put on my crocs and I went outside with Marzi for a morning breathing treatment, we hung ourselves over the balcony and lit up. we were enjoying our fresh air when a pop cop on her stand up moped (that's what Marzi and I call them) comes wheeling by, she passes us then backs up, "Um ladies, you are not to be smoking anywhere near the buildings."

"Sorry we didn't know."

so we head down to the parking lot to stand in the cold and drizzle, smokers can't be choosers ya know. We said we would look at the map and find a better smoke spot later, we don't want to get busted by Paula Blart the pop cop ever again.

Back up to the room, Mom was ready and waiting for us. I had brought 2 jackets, why at the time I didn't know but then Marzi didn't bring a jacket at all so it was my ying working for her yang (as always) so I gave her my zipper hoodie and I wore my wind breaker I gave her a hard time about forgetting a jacket when she knows that she freezes when temps drop below 80, but she quickly reminded me, with sarcasm mind you, about the things I had left home too. "Next time I will come back for you" she;s such a sweet snotty girl.
With umbrellas in hand we left the room and sleeping Janis. I put the do not disturb sign in the key holder to ensure Janis would get the best rest ever!

WE were almost first in line for the bus to AK we knew we would at least get tto sit down, while waiting in line Katie passed by with mug in hand on her way to the pop shop I'm sure. We waved, said our good mornings. It kind of made me feel popular.

The bus ride was quiet, I kept telling myself that rain is going to be ok, we can still do everything the same, it's just rain. I then spoke it out loud, Mom said "It's not supposed to rain on my vacation."

I informed her that every other time I have been to Disney is hasn't rained so it must be her bringing this carp. She accepted that and shrugged.

We get to AK, it's not that crowded, we are there just as the rope drops, we stop and take a few pictures on the way.

Dinner is ready, the hubby is screamin so I will try and update more later.

Do you still have trouble with the leg?

I still have some trouble, mostly during and after work, the Dr gave me compression stockings for my leg to help with the sweling, I wish I would have had them for Disney you can see in the picture from AK that my whole right leg was slightly swollen comapred to my left. I hated how my pants always felt too tight just on my right leg.

You're right! I was on soda duty that week, so that Lynn could get a little extra sleep in the morning. We originally planned to go to Magic Kingdom that morning, but when we got to the bus lines it was crazy so I changed the plan on the fly (with minimal twitching) and we went to EPCOT instead. Not sure how AK weather was but we were in some serious rain at EPCOT.

BTW, you were totally popular the entire time we were on our trip. Lynn played hidden Mickey and I played find Ty.

I totally planed to update today and answer everybodys posts but we were without power most of the day, I will try to update tomorrow, this is just my shameless way of getting me back on page 1.
