What if people were only as cool as their shoes? Dec09 TR. last hours at Disney pg19

I had such a great time on the plane with you too! I can't wait to see how the rest of your trip turns out. Eventhough we did see eachother at dinner. I'm so glad you go to reconnect with your friend too. That is just such a great gift!

I wasn't trying to create suspense, I just thought the post was getting a little too long, so anywhoo back to the report.

I can tell Marzi is pissed by the way she is holding her mouth, she's angry enough to spit and she starts telling me the story.

Marzi's story...
I was late getting to the airport in Fayetville, I had 10 minutes to get checked in and get my boarding pass, they said it was too late to check my bag but it was small enough that I could just carry it on, so I get to the gate and a US Airways guy wanted to take my bag, I told Him it was a carryon and he said he knew that but he needed to take it from me and I would get it back after the flight, so I gave him the bag.

(Right now red flags are going up in my head, he took her bag but didn't give her any kind of ticket to claim it, even when they take your bulkier carryons they give you a claim ticket)

I get off the plane in Charlotte, and I wait for my bag, I wait till I can't wait any longer, finally I go to baggage claim and it's not there either so I ask a US airways worker about it and was told that without a ticket or receipt for the bag there wasn't anything they could do.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this point I start asking her questions, Did you have your adress on your bag?

No.

You didn't put your address on your bag? What did you do with the one I sent you?

She shows me her small duffel bag, it has the address tag on it.

So I ask her what did you do with the yellow baggage tag?

She said it was on the bag that is missing, I relax right away,"Marzi, it will show up, people know what that yellow tag is for, it might get in a little late, but it will get here, all your info is on the barcode of that yellow tag, it's all good, no worries."

"Still the ever optomist I see."

I giggle, "Still the forever pesimist I see?"

Marzi shrugged, "somebody has to be the party pooper"

"Well not you and not at Disney." I knew everything would be fine but I also knew that it would make Marzi feel better if I at least went through the motions of trying to get info on her bag. So we first head down to Magical express and out front for a quick breath of fresh air (We all know I meant smoke, but I want to use happier ways to say it, less nicotiney, black lungy ways to explain)

"I bet when they took your bag they made a ticket for it and sent it on as a checked bag, usually when they take your carryon you are supposed to wait and pick it up on the jetway after the plane leaves."

"I have never flown by myself before, this is all knew to me."

"Well, we will get it figured out."

We went to the lost baggage claom dept for US Airways, I explained what was going on, he got mad at me cause I kept saying Chrlotesville and instead of just Charlotte. "Whatever Dude!" He types and types, then types some more, then asks some questions, then types some more, finally he hands Marzi a piece of parer with a phone number, "Sorry Miss, no sign of your bag, but you can call this number tomorrow."

I leave the office feeling like we wasted eachothers time, but I stil felt like it was going to be ok, and Itell Marzi this, she just shakes her head, and tells me that she has important papers in that bag, she needs them incase she is called for some kind of work thing, it wasn't supposed to be a working vacation, but anything could happen and she was told to be ready, every mornin gshe had to call and see if she had to be on call that day, but without the papers she was screwed, it was really complicated and I won't even try to go into details but the girl was scared for her job at this point.

I then realize w were talking to the wrong people, so I tell Marzi let's go talk to the Magical Express guys, we head over there and tell James our delimma, James asks if there was a yellow bag tag on it, we say yes, he says, Do not worry, your bag will be waiting for you in your room by this evening. Marzi asked if he was sure, he pulled his jacket lapel to the side revealing a button that said "Trust Me!" She felt somewhat better after that. she wasn't worried about her clothes at all, she said she would do laundry every night if she had to, she just needed her work papers. I knew she would get them.

Kent called me then and said Mom had called him because her flight was in but she didn't have my cell phone number, so I tried calling her and it went to voice mail. Marzi and I no longer sit down when I see Mom walking up the way, I get up to go greet her and she is on the freakin phone, so the hugs and the hellos had to wait, she finally hangs up and says, "Dang it, that was my sister Mikki, she called at the worst time, it kind of interupted the flow of things now." I guess Mom was expecting the big happy hugging tearful reunion that I was and here it fizzeld because of a phone call. We give hugs all around, Mom couldn't believe how tall Marzi was, she was always just a little whisper of a girl.

We head over to the ME line get all situated as to where we are supposed to be, we go through the queosque sp? and we get lost...yes, we got lost in the roped lines, how we did it I still don't know but we had to do alot of retracking and climbing over, squatting under just to get to where we need to be, I am laughing and at the same time hoping I don't make such a fool of myself again, I was the planner, the one with the knwledge and I already got us lost in a line.:guilty:

We are in line for like 2 minutes when we are told to follow the lady with the big white gloved hand, so we do as we're heading out I hear my name being called, Ty, Ty, I look over and it's Nic, Hiya Nic! I thought with all the running around the airport I had totally missed my chance to meet her, and even though we didn't get to sit down and chat we at least got to see eachother in person and say hi. Nic is such a cutie too! I was hoping that I might get a chance to see her again, I texted her and told her I was sorry we didn't get a proper meet up but maybe we would run into eachother at one of the parks.

So on the bus we go. Marzi and I sitting in front of Mom and Janis, the bus wasn't even half full when it headed out to take us to our resorts. Mom used the restroom on the bus, I didn't even know they had one on the bus, but mom can seek out a potty in the middle of no where. She came out of there complaining that they didn't give you much room to manuever in there and work your magic, but they had arm rails to hold onto, she thought they were there for leverage when pushing. I think they are there to hold onto when the ride gets bumpy. I start laughing as I have a visual of the bus banking a sharp left and Mom falling out of the toilet onto the floor, pants down around her ankles, :lmao: I don't tell her this though.

The ride went fast, I kept trying to keep Mom and Janis in on the coversation with Marzi and I, I didn't want Mom to feel left out. I thought Janis was a bit quiet, pretty shy maybe, (She comes out of her shell later let me tell you) Finally we see the WDW arch and the bus erupts into applause, I then realize I didn't have my camera ready, I hadn't taken a single picture yet, I have been in florida for over an hour, met up with my long lost BFF of 25 years, and I hadn't taken a single picture yet. I fifugred I'd had some major making up to do.

Pop Century was the first drop off, Yay us!!!!:dance3: I get off the bus and ask Mom to get the luggage, I give her a few dollars to tip the driver, then I reconsidered that and decided to wait with them for the luggage, I didn't care if there was a line for check in, I didn't want to totally separate yet, so we all get our carry on bags and head in, I pass the little tv room and tell Mom and Janis and Marzi to wait there while I get us checked in. Mom and Janis go to the sitting area, I tell Mom "Stay there, do not wander around, don't leave this place at all." Marzi comes with me and we wait about 15 minutes in line, it's now our turn, they get us all our stuff, birthday buttons, 1st time buttons, and a resort map followed by the tradition of drawing all over it while they tell me how to get to my room.

We go to get Mom and Janis...they are not there, I told them to stay put and they didn't listen, so I call Mom and ask her where she is and she tells me she is by the big Christmas tree at the store. I head down there and find her and Janis just milling around.

"Mom, I told you to stay there, you didn't mind me."

Mom shrugs her shoulders, "You're not the boss of me." then pretends to flick a booger at me, that's my mom. always a precious little dear woman.

We start heading to our room, I had requested the 70's, then realized way too late (like on the way to the room) I had really wanted the 60's, I wanted to be by the hippy dippy pool, and instead I was in the big wheel building, oh well, I liked that this was new to me too now, not just new to the others.

We are on the 3rd floor, around the middle of the building, we have a partial parking lot view, but it's secluded and quiet. I say "Wow, we are all the way in BFE."
Mom asks, "What's BFE?"
Janis giggles, and Marzi says you don't want to know.

"Yes, I do, what is it? What's BFE?

I rubbed her shoulder, I will tell you when you are older Mom, for now just enjoy being innocent."

We go in the room, aahhh I love and hate the smell of hotel rooms, they are starchy which means it's somewhat clean and I like that, but It smells generic, I usually bring a candle to burn but I had no extra room, for one this time.

We claim our beds, Marzi and me are closest to the bathroom, Mom and Janis by the door. I start to rearrange my park bag, I had some things that I needed to bring to the parks with me and my little bag wouldn't do, so I put everything into my big Disney tote. We all freshened up a bit, I brushed my hair while Marzi just gave me that look, I can't explain that look, but it's the look she always gave me when she thought I was riduculous.

"I'm surprised you even have hair as much as you brush it, I would have thought you'd be balled by now."

I explain the whole "This card is your life line here thing, it's your room key, your park ticket, your meal voucher all in one." Don't lose it because you can also charge things to your room using it and I have it connected to my credit card. please do not charge to the room either."

After that we head down to the buses to catch our ride to MK. It was early in the day, I want to say it was noonish. The bus wasn't full, we actually got to sit this. The ride seemed to take forever, finally we are there, MK was just waitin gfor us.
We do the bag check line, then the scan the finger line, we grab a map and then we are inside. before Mom could see the castle I told her to close her eyes, I took her by the hand and lead her to the center where she would have the most perfect view of the castle. "Now open your eyes."

She did and her face lit up with awe, she didn't speak for a few minutes and when she did she was raspy, "It's so beautiful, Ty, I never even imagined it would be so beautiful."

I tell her to suck it all in, remember that feeling remember the smell of this place, you will never get your first time back, savor this."

We get out of the mush mushy mode pretty quickly and decide we are all hungry, so we decided to go to Pecos Bill, we cut through the castle and turned left. This would be the most crowded we weould see it all week, there was alot of weaving in and out of people, Mom is a very slow walker, I am used to running around the store, Marzi is a nurse and used to running around too so we had to make an effort to remember to slow down, or to just stop and wait. It took a few days but we finally all found a happy walking medium where we weren't getting left or accidentally leaving somebody behind.

We finally make it to Pecos Bill, it's packed, I kind of expected it to be, Mom and Janis told us there order and then left to find us a table. It was fnny how Marzi and I wanted the same thing to eat, right down to choosing yogurt for dessert instead of the carrot cake. But what made it so funny is we would order at the same time and say the same exact thing, even pausing at the same time, it was like we never were apart, after 25 years we picked up where we had left off, still knowing what eachother is thinking, still finishing eachothers sentences.

We get our food and head to the table, Marzi and I go back for condiments, mayonaise for my fries, and mustard for hers, that is about the only pklace we differ, she takes more after my sister in the condiment department, mustard on fries? GROSS!!!!!!!

We all 4 had the pulled pork sandwich, Marzi and I with soda and yogurt, Mom and Janis with Milk and carrot cake, it was so good but so filling, I couldn't even finish half my sandwhich, only a quarter of my fries, but all of my yogurt.

We finsihed up and went into the bathrooms to clean up a bit before deciding to hit the rest of the park, we had about 5 hours till we had to leave, that's plenty of time to do what we wanted.

First things first though, Marzi and I pull out a map and start looking for a breathin gtreatment zone, we searched all over that map and didn't see a darn thing, I thought, hhmmm, I guess they made this park a complete no smoking zone, I thought for sure they had designated areas.

I looked at Marz, "I won't be able to wait 5 hours, I can go a few hours more but I'm gonna have to leave the park to light one up." she said that would be the plan and Mom and Janis could wait for us on main street in one of the shops. so with that decided we headed to our first ride of the trip

Haunted Mansion, it was a 10 minute wait. So into the line we went, it was in line that I remembered about my hidden Mickey book, and also remembered that I left it on my night stand at home, BLAST! the whole reason I asked my mom to get me that book was so I could look for hidden Mickeys on the ride, I had remembered about a hidden Duck, I thought it was a stuffed Donald Duck on a chair, so I told Marzi about it and told her to help me look. She was intrigued witht he whole Hidden Mickey thing and from then on always kept her eyes out for one.

we made it into the stretching room, I told Mom to look up during the lightening but she was too late, I told her she would have to ride again to see what she missed because I wasn't going to tell her.
Marzi of course was in a doom buggy with me and Mom with Janis, I nearly got my fingers broken off backwards, I forgot they close the car up a bit, so I had my fingers clasped and on my bag across my stomache, when the car closed and the bar caught my fingers bending them backwards, ow ow ow.
Marzi laughed and calle dme a dip$h!t. some things never change. (her calling me names I mean, I haven't always been a dip$h!t.)

So on the ride, we found the hidden mickey on the table in the ball room, Marzi pointed out the dead guy under the table, Huh! I have never seen that before, crazy man, crazy!

We find no more hidden mickeys and no donald duck. Dang it, we'll have to try again later.

We disembark and go outside to a find their is now a 30 minute wait for Haunted Mansion now, our hunt for the duck would have to wait, we head to fantasy land after stopping in a few shops along the way, I am really needing a breathing treatment by now, I pull the map out again and viola right in front of my eyes, designated areas, so we decide to head to tomorrowland and hit up the designated area on the way, we stop and all get waters first, then it was onto the indy speedway area for Marzi and I and a nice shaded area for Mom and Janis to wait.

I think having a designated smoking area right next to the race cars is a good idea, it became my favorite zone, I love the smell of exhaust, mix in some marlboro menthol....pure divinity. This may sound stupid to none smokers, and I am not proud to be a smoker, but when you light up after going for so long without, well I will quote Eddie Murphy, "That wadn't no regular cracker." We had to laugh about that, and this is where I will end the update.

coming up, my first disney purchase and my long waited Dis meetup with JoJo

Hey, Ty! I'm here!

Wow! I can see I've got some catching up to do. I can't wait to hear all about your trip. Just from the cast in the intro, I can tell I'm really gonna enjoy this! :surfweb:

Great start. I think I may have to say it's a small world. If your friend Marzi is from Fayetteville NC cause girl guess where I live!! Army brought my dad here. Have lived in Ft. Leonard Wood, overseas in a few places, here at Ft. Bragg and NY somewhere. Dad was a recruiter at the time(in NY). Waiting for more.

Perhaps I'm out of the loop but what does BFE stand for?

Can't wait to hear about your meet up with JoJo!!!! Too bad Marzi lost her bag. Hope it turns up! Great report so far. Love it!

Oh come on!!! What a cliff hanger! Don't keep me hanging! I wanna know what she said :worship:

Sounds like you banged your knee pretty hard when you tripped over your suitcase. Hope it held out for the rest of your trip.

I never meet other DISers on flights from Canada. :sad2:
Honestly a cliff hanger was not planned, I didn't leave anybody hanging too long, not to say that there won't be any cliff hangers in the future....

I did bang my knee pretty hard but it didn't become a problem like I feared it would.

I had such a great time on the plane with you too! I can't wait to see how the rest of your trip turns out. Eventhough we did see eachother at dinner. I'm so glad you go to reconnect with your friend too. That is just such a great gift!

Yea we saw eachother a few times, what did you think of WCC? I loved the food but I hated having to do the Hokey Pokey for my food every 20 minutes.

I hope you do enjoy this TR. It seems like without kids it's just not as cute or funny, but maybe the fact that Marzi and I are dorks will help a bit. We just have so many quirks that we laugh at and think is funny but others don't understand, I will always try my best to explain though.

Funny update. So fun that you met a Diser.

Meeting another Diser, and an unplanned meeting at that is just a great feeling.

Wow it is a small world, Marzi is just a little ways from Fayetville now, she is in Linden, NC. When I was first looking for her I went to classmatesdotcom and signed up under Fayetville, and where as I didn't find Marzi that way a few of my friends from Germany found me on through that site.

Perhaps I'm out of the loop but what does BFE stand for?

Gosh I can't say what BFE stands for, it's a bad word,

B is for butt
F is a bad wrd rhyming with duck
E is for egypt

Basically it means being in the middle of no where.

Awwww, Ty. This is the coolest reunion ever! I'm glad it was wonderful and I'm happy you and Marci both got back into the swing of things. :cloud9:

I too was a smoker, big time. I say was, because this January 27th, I will be smoke free for 6 yrs. :woohoo: (I remember the date because it was DH's birthday present) It's funny (funny weird) that you and Marci both ended up smokers after being apart all those years, did you two ever talk about how you both became smokers?

Ty, one thing I know and I know well.......You'll quit when your ready.
Not a day before, and don't let others tell you to do it, you have to do it for yourself and no one else.
I know because I had quit many times before and I always did it out of love, guilt or shame for others, but never quit for myself.

This time it was for me :lovestruc, it's been the longest I've been concrete to stay this way, usually within a year or less I was right back at it, I don't feel like I'm missing anything, or praise God ever want to go back. This is big, because I couldn't say this in the past when I quit.
Now, I'll be healthy and around to see my grand-babies. I'm anxious to get to the ten year mark, I hear that my lungs will be pink again and not black anymore.

When you do it, do it for you Ty, your worth it and your worth being around for your grand-babies, and great grand-babies. (This was the message that played over and over in my head before I finally took the leap) ;)

I love how your mom became so verklempt (twalk amongst yourselves) when she had finally seen Main St. :cloud9: It was a perfect start for your mom and your whole trip.

I'm glad you mentioned the hidden Mickey book! This will have to be something I get before our trip this time around. I think it would be fun looking for them with my family.

Yea we saw eachother a few times, what did you think of WCC? I loved the food but I hated having to do the Hokey Pokey for my food every 20 minutes.

I really enjoyed it. Didn't really mind the Hokey Pokey so much, but our waiter Gino Casino said that I was my friend's monther :scared1: I am only 5 years older. Yikes!

Can't wait to read more! I'm so glad that my DH is only a lightweight smoker now so he didn't have to take time out from my riding time to get some fresh air, lol. He doesn't smoke in front of the kids, so the only time he got to was late at night while the girls were all in bed.
Don't worry about no kids on your trip. Your reports would be fun to read no matter who was with you, but it makes it that much cooler that your long lost friend is there with you.

And I've never seen the dead guy under the table on HM? WTH! I can't wait to go back now!

Still reading along and enjoying it very much...dont worry about the no kid factor,I am still laughing here at work while my coworkers think Im slightly off my rocker. They already wonder why I spend so much time on a site about Disney World, haha. Anyway,I love how you led your mom to see the castle, and I guess I must be a little naieve myself since I had no idea of what BFE meant either...lol. Thanks for the explanation. Ok,you may now continue on ....popcorn::

Gosh I can't say what BFE stands for, it's a bad word,

Oh okay! I have never heard that expression before. Learn something new every day!

I think having a designated smoking area right next to the race cars is a good idea, it became my favorite zone, I love the smell of exhaust, mix in some marlboro menthol....pure divinity.

All caught up again. I'm a former smoker, and still love the smell of when you first light up. When we walked by the DSA, I would alway breathe in a little deeper! :rotfl2:

Tyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Sorry i'm a bit late for the trip report party, hope there is still room for me?

Now I need to go back and read everything so that I can comment :surfweb:

I just want to say that it was WONDERFUL to meet all of you!! You are such a lovely person in real life as well as here on the dis and your mum is truly as funny as you made her out to be - Den wanted to take her home because she was making him laugh that much  I'm so glad we finally got to meet!! Whenever i'm under those fans in the queue for a dole whip in the future - I will always remember the fun we had working our hair

Thank you for the encouraging words, I want to quit smoking just for me, I have quit once before and was good for a few months then picked it back up when I statred working at BB&B, I thought it would be easy to quit again but I am having a much harder time, I have told myself that if I throw all that money from cigs into an account for Disney I could pay for a trip in about a year, (that's if I include Kents cig money too) I'm ready to quit, I just need that moment where I just do it. But congratulations to you, I want pink lungs again too!!!!!

Marzi and I never talked about how we both ended up smokers, it is wierd though.

Mom was so in awe of so many things at Disney, and Janis, God bless squeals with delight and giggles and claps her hands when she is excited, which happened alot on out trip.

The kidden Mickey book is really neat, I just wish I hadn't forgotten mine.

I really enjoyed it. Didn't really mind the Hokey Pokey so much, but our waiter Gino Casino said that I was my friend's monther :scared1: I am only 5 years older. Yikes!

I hokeyed a few times but there comes a time when I just want to eat and not dance. It was a fun place, I would probably go with kids again, but not just me and adults, maybe I was just too tired to really feel it that night?

Serioulsy, he thought you were the mother? Not cool, even if he was joking I woud be like "Oh no you din't." You don't look old enough to pass for your friends mother, honest!!!!

On our first trip to Disney, I wasn't a smoker but my DH was, I thought he had quit because I never saw him smoke, he said he never smoked at the parks he would just go out to the car in the evenings and light up there. hopefully we will both be smoke free on our next trip.

I just think that kids included in a TR are so much cuter and funny because they are so innocent and say the darndest things.

Oh okay! I have never heard that expression before. Learn something new every day!

You've herd of FUBAR right? Cause that story is coming up soon!:lmao:

All caught up again. I'm a former smoker, and still love the smell of when you first light up. When we walked by the DSA, I would alway breathe in a little deeper! :rotfl2:
I hear you on that! My Grandma who hasn't smoked for 30 years now says she still loves the smell of a ciggerette and if the surgeon general were to anounce tomorrow that smoking was safe she would be the first in line to get a pack.

Tyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

JoooooooooJoooooooooooooooooooo:hug:, there's always room for you.
It was so great to meet you and Den, I had fun and wish we could have hung out a bit longer. Thank you so much again for all my gifts, they will pop up in the TR in a huge way.

Anytime I am in front of a fan and my hair gets to blowing, I will always remember our sexy hair days.

Gosh, I forgot where I left off, I think I was heading to the speedway for some fresh air, on the way I got a text from JoJo asking if our meet up was still in the books. I text her back and let her know we are all set for it. We finished filling our lungs and then headed over to ride Buzzlight year, the wait was 40 minutes, we discussed fast passing it but wasn't sure if we would make it back in time to ride due to our ADR's later that night, so we went on the TTA instead, it was nice to sit down and I thought well at least I will get to see the inside of Space Mountain on this trip. I rode backwards and I hated it, I used to really like this ride, now I just kind of like this ride, I don't know what happened to change anything but oh well, we finish the ride and Marzi says it was the biggest waste of time, I tell her no, the biggest waste is Stitch's Great Escape, she didn't believe me. I told her I would prove it on our next MK day.

We make our way back to FantasyLand, Winnie the Pooh has a 30 minute wait, we figure we might as well wait, everything else seems to be about the same wait time and we needed something to do until it was time for the dis meet with JoJo, so in line we got. It was hot in line too, I think that is the hottest and most uncomfortable heat wise that we were the whole trip, if only I had known I would be wishing for that heat again.

The posted time for WInnie the Pooh was no lie, we got in our honey pots after a 29 minute wait, and the ride is over in like what?:confused3 90 seconds if even, we have a laugh about this, it just seems like you'll wait for anything for any amount of time as long as it's at Disney World.

The ride left us in the dump shop, we actually spent quite alot of time shopping around in here.

Marzi bought herself a keychain, Mom bought a pen and I bought some earings, I put them on right away, I have sensitive ears and knew they would start to hurt eventually but for the mean time I felt good wearing my new Disney purchase. We leave with goodies in hand (and on ears) and start making our way to Adventure land.

At this point Mom finally got out her video camera and started taping things, She really like the topiaries around the tea cups but couldn't figure out why the rabbit was wearing a bra

alldis09001.jpg

We figured out it was a bow tie, but really, can you see how we would think it was a bra?

along the way we pass Aloha Isle, Mom starts her panic, (an excited panic though) Is this it Ty? The dole whips you told us about?
Yup that be they, but we have to wait for JoJo and Den. Mom looked sad yet hopeful.

We got to pirates of the Caribean about 15 minutes early, so I sat Mom and Janis down in the shade (again) and Marz and I headed back to the apointed fresh air area. WE both took the time to call our respective other halfs.
Kent was missing me (glad to hear it) the dog was missing me, (that's a given) the kids hadn't asked about me once....

Marzi hangs up with her DH and tells me that he thinks her suitcase has been stolen. So I take a few minutes to assure her that it has not been stolen, but she still decided to make some calls about her paper work that she would be needing, after a few she was told that if her luggage wasn't in her room when we got back that her supervisor would try and overnight what she would need. a little better but you could tell she still had it on her mind. She was such a trooper though, trying so hard not to dwell on it, you could just tell though that it was in the back of her mind.

We head back over to POC and Mom and I are talking about something random, I can't recall it now, I just remember thinking "Wow, this is random, and where is JoJo.?"
My phone rings, it's JoJo

Jo: we're here where are you?
Ty: we're here too, where are you?
Jo: in front of POC
Ty: So am I but I don't see you.

I start looking around then JoJo says I see you, I turn around and there she is, phone to her ear, just like me, it's funny because we actually said Goodbye on the phone before we hung up, then we said hello in person, it was hugs all around. I couldn't believe it, months of conversing on the boards and finally we see eachother in person, it wasn't awkward like I though it would be, right away we both just start talking...
now let me say, JoJo is as sweet in person as she is on the boards, there is no fooling anybody, she is a nice nice girl, and really cute too, oh and Den, he is really cute as well. We all just jumped into conversation.
We exchanged gifts, JoJo really did too much for me, I loved all of it, but there was so much I couldn't go through all of it right there, I do go through it at the resort and I will report on that later.
We were going to ride POC but it broke down, somebody didn't believe in George, I explained to JoJo and Den about a worker supposedly dying on this ride, (not while riding it, just maintenance I think) anyway, if you say I don't believe in George the ride will supposedly break down.
We discuss the George factor as we head over to Aloha Isle to get some scrumptious pineapple dole whips. Mom and Janis sit while the rest of us go place our orders.
It was windy in that line and the closer you get to the register the windier it gets, our hair was just flying all over the place, it was in my eyes and in my mouth, my hands were full so I couldn't use them to pull my hair back, so I start flipping my head from side to side, well that just seemed too funny to me, JoJo's hair is flying everywhere too, so I start playing it up a bit..
"Whooo, check out our sexy hair, work it girlfriends own it."

After we get our order we head over to Mom and Janis at the bench, it was then I noticed that JoJo and Den did not get the pineapple Dole whip, they got some other kind of soft serve, I mean they are allowed to order what they want but the plans said Dole whip!!! Pineapple Dole Whip, they deviated from the plans....and that is perfectly fine:hug: we all enjoyed our dessert, the soft serves we discovered are hollow inside, huh!

We finished up our frozen libation, (can soft serve ice cream be considered a libation, or is that soley reserved for icees?)

we head back to POC and it is up and running. so we get in the not even there line, that's right, no wait we just jump on and we were off, I told Marzi you get really wet on this ride, she didn't believe me at all. (She's smart, that girl) the ride was uneventful, we didn't believe in George but the ride kept going:confused3 I was most excited to find a hidden Mickey, the cat casts a mickey shadow on the wall behind him, it was super neat to see it...Finally I was always looking for that one, I could now check it off my list. (I just need that danged duck in HM)

Too soon the ride was over, we disembark and head out to the front to say our goodbye and so nice to meet yas.

This is JoJo and I with our sexy hair, I had to do the hair whip to get it just right. I was actually disapointed in my hair, it went straight the minute I stepped off the plane and stayed that way until I went home. But anywho, I wish I would have had a picture taken with all of us in it, I wasn't thinking too clearly, BLAST!, we reluctantly said our goodbyes and headed out of the park, we passed the jungle cruise along the way and decided that we had just enough time to ride. there was a ten inute wait but it went fast, I had to keep Marzi occupied and looking in other directions then where there were spiders, the girl has a death fear of spiders, I'm talking she will pass out if she sees a spider. She did see the big spiders in cages but knew they were fake, it freaked her out but didn't cause a panic in her.

Our boat driver was on fire that night, she hit every mark, delivered each line with a punch and Janis was loving it, laughing and clapping with each joke, Mom wasn't doing anything it made me feel like I had to explain the jokes to her, she said she got it, "Then laugh please, at least fake it, do something, nobody sits straight faced through this boat ride."
she just smiles and sits back, I like to think that she was going back in her mind to her childhood, life in the cottage on the lake, taking a slow evening boat ride after dinner, just before dark, the sun is setting over the lake, the water is orange at the horizon, Mom looks peaceful, I at that moment was so happy that she came on this trip. I felt at peace too.

But then the boat ride was over and we had tohigh tail it to the entrance...so we could exit!!!!!

It's crowded but steady moving, we make it to the boat launch and are the first ones on the boat to WCC, it was a nice ride and the castle lights lit up as we were pulling away from the dock.

I like your hair. I keep going back and forth between cutting my hair and letting it grow. Your's makes me think about going long again!

I'm totally hair jealous. I wish I had hair that's good for growing long, but no go. ;) It sounds like a good time in the park, I love it when people have great reactions to the things we love about Disney. Sounds like your mom's friend would be a lot of fun to be in Disney with.
Can't wait to hear more. :woohoo:

I haven't had long hair in a long time it's always been shoulder length, I said I would cut it after Disney and I had every intentio but Kent said he likes it long and asked me to not cut it until after our next DIsney trip. I think you can do more with long hair and let me tell you I rock the messy bun like no other.

It was a good time in the park, all of us were so excited to be there. And Yes, Janis is a lot of fun to be in Disney with, she's easy going and just appreciates everything, even the small stuff. Everyone appreciated Disney but Janis was always so enthusiastic.

The boat ride to the wilderness lodge was nice, we froze our hind ends off, none of us thought to bring a jacket with us, we just assumed it was so warm out that we wouldn't need one, imagine our surprise, it actually can get cold in Florida.

We got off the boat and as we were walking on the dock Mom says "Ew gross, there's a slimey boogar like thing on me, I wonder if a kid wiped it on me when we were in the crowd of people."

I'm doing a litttle dry heave now, this was so gross.

I felt bad for Mom, it was her first trip to Disney World and she got boogard, I even considered this for a trip title but it still makes me sick in my stomache and I just really don't want to relive that moment every time I update and see the title.

So moving on........

we make our way to WCC, I love the wilderness lodge and hope to one day stay there, the only thing that stops me from doing so is if I did stay at the WildernessLodge I would have to make it a short trip for financial reasons, I get more bang for my buck vacationing value resort way, plus Pop Century doesn't share their buses with other resorts, no other pick ups or drops offs to and from the parks, but if I ever win the lottery I am going to stay at WL for a long time!!!!!

We walk into the big area, mom, Janis and Marzi just taking it all in, Marzi heads to the fireplace to get warm and realizes it's more for looks, she wasn't feeling any heat off of it.

We were still too early to even check in, so we went into the gift shop. Mom found a lime green hoodie with tinkerbell on it, she really wanted it but didn't want to spend that kind of money on it, even after giving her the speech of, "You might never come back to Disney again, this trip is about letting go and giving in to yourself, you won't find anything like this back in Michigan, it's so worth the money, it looks good on you. Honestly Dad isn't going to care how much you spent." Mom still didn't get it.

Janis found some lip balm, beaver butt and moose spit were 2 of the flavors, yummo! I thought about getting it for kent, but he is a plain chapstick kind of guy, anything else he consideres girly, yup, even beaver butt would be too girly for my man.

I found a bracelet I just had to have and Marzi found one similiar, I was looking at T-shirts and decided to wait, why blow all my funds the first night right? Marzi was checking out and her bill was over $40, she didn't want to buy the watch for $15, (the special) so I gave her the money to get the watch for me, then the brat puts the watch in her bag and says I can't have it till my birthday cause it's a surprise. "Dude, I say, I paid for that." She laughs, "I know and it worked out so well for me."
"Give me my watch Beotch!!!!"

We head over to WCC and I check in, I am given my buzzer,
By now we are all slap happy and that buzzer was a fun toy, it looked like something star trekyish.
"Spock give me your coordinance and I will beam you up."
"Spock, are you out of your vulking mind?"

so we all settle into the comfy couch that just sucks you down in, I'm telling you if I weren't freezing I would have fallen asleep. I called Kent but the phone just kept ringing which meant my son was online, phewey! I really need to get a second line.

Finally our buzzer goes off and I am having a hard time getting up, when I do stand my leg feels like the skin is tearing and it hurts to walk, but I make it to the podium no problem, they lead us to our table and we all take our seats, it took a long time for our server to show up and take our drink order and even longer to actually bring our drinks, that place was really busy. When she brought our drinks we were all ready to order, Mom and I got steak, Marzi got pot roast and Janis got some chicken thing.

Before too long they made us get up and do the Hokey Pokey, we all did this even though none of us wanted to, we were starting to feel our 3:00am wake up, it was now after 9:00pm, and we were getting tired, our mistake was sitting down and relaxing. I wanted to go back to the resort and go to bed, but I was also starving, food won out in the end.

alldis09003.jpg

This is Marzi doing the hokey Pokey, for the first and last time.

Our food comes and it looks so good, the mash potatoes were divine, and the steak was so juicy, it was pretty fatty too, I had to do alot of cutting around but it was so good.

Kent called then, I was telling him about my great steak when the server comes over, she yells "Everybody keep it down, my bestest friend is trying to talk on the phone." I didn't know if this was part of the playing they do, or if she was trying to tell me that talking on my phone at the dinner table was rude. It was too loud to really hear Kent anyway so I told him I would call before bed.

Now all of a sudden they want to do the Hokey Pokey again, I was eating and didn't want to, the server said "Stand up," I said ummmm no, I'm eating!
I did do the motions of the hokey pokey while sitting in my chair, but honestly my leg was swelling and I just didn't want to stand up until it was time to go.

Half way through dinner I look to my right and there is Katie (EvilDiva) dining with her friend, we wave to eachother, My Mom is like, "Who is that?" So I tell her it was Katie who I met on the plane, I had already told her this story earlier, it was too cool of a story not to tell, but now Mom had a face to go with the name.

It's time for stick pony races, this really is a great place for kids and the food is really good, I might try it again sometime, I won't completely write it off for now, it was just too loud and too chaotic for me, but, it could be that I was tired and it was late, we will leave that decision for another time.

Our server comes around to get our dessert order, Marzi is not a big dessert person, she's not huge on sweets, (wierdo) I don't remember what she got, all I remember is Mom and I each got the chocolate cake,
alldis09004.jpg

Of course mine came with a candle and a brithday song.
Mom and I bit into our cake at the same time, we just looked at eachother and our eyes got big, oh sweet heaven, I have tasted thee now.
That cake was soooo good, I couldn't finish all of it and that broke my heart, nothing as wonderful like that should ever go to waste. but then again I was feeling pretty good about not finishing it, one of my biggest fears was gaining back the 20 pounds I had lost before the trip, It was a double edged sword, finish it and gain {eight, don'| finish it and mt goes to waste
