what if luggage from ME makes it to resort before we check-in?

If we get to WL from ME and go to lunch at Whisp Canyon before we check in - and our luggage gets to WL before we checkin - what will they do with the luggage?

do ppl NEED to checkin before heading off to the parks/PSs/etc?
I know you most likely would want to but what if time is running short?

According to Tyler on this forum, luggage will not be delivered to a guest's room until the guest has checked in and accepted a specific room.

Much to my surprise, this long standing policy has changed with DME. (Although, each resort might be different... I've heard two different versions of this policy from my work location alone)

When you check in at the DME welcome center, a message gets sent out to the resort. The room assignor then assigns a room based on preferences, and whats currently available. When the luggage arrives, it gets immedietly sent up to the room, as long as the room is blocked, and in "clean" status.

Of course, should the guest not accept the room, and go for a different room, then a bellman must be sent up to the room, retrieve the luggage, and move it to the new room. (This is assuming that the CM checking the folks in realizes it's a DME reservation, and notifies the proper people.)
