What if I miss ME departure to Airport

What happens if I get tied up in the parks, for instance, and am late for the ME time to go to the airport. Do they simply put me and my luggage on the next bus or do I have to find my own way to the airport. I will be flying US Airways and do not qualify for onsite check-in.

DME doesn't have to let you on the next bus. The next bus might be full. It's even possible, that the next bus doesn't have any passengers scheduled from your resort and won't be making a stop.

DME doesn't want to be responsible if you don't make your flight.Ask but you might have to pay for a taxi.

Allow plenty of time or just plan on taking a taxi.

Don't get tied up at the parks. Allow plenty of time to get back to your resort and claim your luggage before your assigned bus comes.

If you DO miss that bus, and IF there's room on a later bus, you may be accommodated - but Disney/DME will NOT guarantee that you make your flight. So, yeah, you'd be best off finding your own way to the airport.

If you miss your scheduled Disney's Magical Express bus, then you can take a taxi (at your own expense) to Orlando International Airport.

Always make sure to allow PLENTY of time to get from theme parks and especially Downtown Disney to your resort, and then additional time to get your luggage. In addition to all that, you need to be at your DME stop 10-15 minutes prior to your pick up time.

It's very important to know that the time given to you is the departure time of the motorcoach. They do leave on time, and depending on if your watches don't agree, possibly even a minute or two early.

everytime we used DME from resort to MCO we had a 3 hr pickup before flight and they asked you to be down for bus 15 min eairlier. so total 3hr 15 min

I wouldn't chance missing my bus

Not sure I understand why anyone would risk missing their flight home, make sure you catch your ME bus. JMO

Unlike the park buses that run on a 20 minute schedule the ME buses are scheduled based on the # of reservations. So while there "may" be room on the next bus it could also be full. Since the people with reservations for that time would have first preference you may not be allowed to board. In addition the next scheduled bus after yours may not be for an hour or more depending on the reservations.

I would plan to make your ME departure time or make arrangements for a towncar or cab in advance if you think that is more convenient.

In addition, since your not flying a participating airline you will need to leave your bags with bell services. Sometimes it can take a while to get them so you will need extra time for that as well.

FWIW, I used ME twice, (Feb & April 06) and due to the long security lines at MCO we needed every minute of extra time we had at the airport.

Thanks everyone. I was just throwing the idea out there. I have a 1:40 flight and expect to go straight from my room to the ME bus at my resort. I expect I will be asked to be there by about 10:30. I would only have time for a quick breakfast away from hotel, if that

Heck, subconciously I always want to miss my flight home, I just don't want to leave. It's the flight TO Orlando that I really don't want to miss!
