What if I didn't make a reservation for enough people @ 'Ohana??

I have reservations at 'Ohana for me, DH, DS (9), & DD (7) on 1/26/11. I just found out my brother and his DW, DD (5), and DS (3) will be joining us in Disney World for part of our trip. There are no reservations available for a party of 8 any of the evenings we're there. Does anyone know if 'Ohana would try to accomodate us the night of our reservation if my brother's family shows up with us?

I highly doubt it given the popularity of 'Ohana and the long waits that 'Ohana is notorious for. If you had one extra person, I might think it's possible. But to go from 4 to 8 is a lot different. You can always try though and just show up and ask. I would definitely have a back up plan.

(The people at the 'Ohana podium really are notorious for not being very helpful - sort of like the "no soup for you" thing!)

If you know they are going to be going and you have a ADR for 4 call on the phone and ask if you can add 4, there always seems to be empty tables in these popular restaurants even when they say they don't have seating. You could try walking up and added 4 but get there early before your ADR time. We have done this several times at the very popular Le Cellier add 1 or 2 people to an ADR we already had and never had a problem, infact last October we actually got a walkup for all of us no ADR to Le Cellier during a crowded Food and Wine Festival Weekend.
What time of the year are you going?

Your best bet is to try and get them their own ressie, or set them up somewhere else for that meal.

It is a VERY slim chance they will be allowed to dine with you. Ohana is too popular right now and is booked constantly.

Call and see if they can add 4 to your reservation or get you another one around the same time for their family. They may be able to seat you together or at least near each other.

We went the day after Thanksgiving and even though it was super busy, I saw 3 different families with no ADR's being told they could get in but would have a wait of an hour and a half to two hours. One was a family of 8 so it is possible. We were a party of 8 and DD's boyfriend decided to join us making 9 and so I asked when we checked in if we could add him and they said no problem. It never hurts to try. Just be prepared to wait a little longer although we didn't have to wait any longer.

I called and they were able to accomodate my request for 8 people instead of 4!! My reservation time switched from 7 pm to 6:40, which is no problem. This surprised me because on the online system no reservations were available for any size party that evening except for 9pm.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! :yay:
