Will you get in trouble if you book for a larger party then you have? We have a party of 5 but there are some more convenient dinner times for a party of 6. Wouldn't they put us at a table for 6 anyway?

It's fine to book for a larger party and then show up with 5. Or you could book with 6, and then call and change it to 5.

The is no problem showing up with fewer people. Even if you booked for 5 you would most likely be seated at a table for 6 anyway.

We were a party of six and my daughter did not end up making the trip so I changed it to a party of five when I checked in for the meal. So far it's been no problem at two of the table services we've gone too. It's only our second day here so hopefully we won't have a problem any other day.

You can easily change it. Go into the reservation in MDE and choose "modify". Then adjust the number of people down to your party size.

It's also fine to leave it as a reservation for one larger than your party size. I don't think you're likely to run into any trouble for doing it that way.

ETA: I frequently find reservations at more convenient times for larger parties than ours. It's very common for me to book a reservation for 6 when there will be only 3 of us. Then I go in and modify it to a party of 3. The only time this doesn't work is for something like CRT that is a prepaid meal. I am not prepaying for 6 people when there will be only two of us there!
