What "iconic" movies/films have you never seen?

you simply must watch this!!!

And if you like it, definately check out James Cagney in my favourite film of his: Angels with Dirty Faces. That's my favourite that he's done. The Public Enemy is great in its own right, but AWDF is in a league of its own.

If you haven't seen it, I also recommend JC in The Fighting 69th.

While good ole Jimmy only ever won an Oscar for his role in Yankee Doodle Dandy, his portrayal as the Irish-American gangster is purely amazing.

Random trivia about him: He modeled his on-screen persona after the gangster Owney "The Killer" Madden with whom he was close friends. Owney was nicknamed "The Killer" by the NYPD when he was 18 as he was, at that point, responsible for at least three murders having committed his first at 14 and his second a year later.

It's on the top of my list of movies to see! James Cagney is love! :lovestruc
I just have to find it and find time to sit and watch a movie! lol

I've seriously seen EVERY single movie all of you mentioned that you have not seen.

I watch a lot of movies. I'm sure theres a few I've never seen, but I can't think of any "really iconic" ones that I have not seen.

nooo lifee/

Omigosh yes! I had that before, it was amazing!
I'll have to convince my 'rents to get it again..haha

I had a trial of it for a while, but I let it expire and didn't want to pay for the full thing.

I'll probably get it for college, though. It'll be cheaper than renting/buying all the movies I want to see.

Yeah, I might "splurge" and get it for next yeah at college. =)
Didn't they drop the price again, so it's only like $5 a month? Or am I completely wrong? lol

It's $5 for two DVDs a month, but for $9 you can get 1 DVD at a time, but you can get as many as you want a month.

Ohhh..the $9 is a better deal!
Haha thanks! I'm definitely getting it in August!

Patti, you should be a guide at GMR. You should add all of your own little improv into that little bit with James Cagney. :)

- The Public Enemy
- When Harry Met Sally
- 10 Things I Hate About You

GMR is my favourite ride at Disney!!! I go on it atleast twice every trip.

I always love getting the gangsters instead of the cowboys. Gangsters are so much more intersting.

Cagney's movies in the 30s and 40s are by far some of the best of the genre. I've seen people quote Goodfellas, Boondock Saints, and The Road to Perdition as some of the best Irish Mob movies ever made, but so few people care to look back at the old black and white films.

James Cagney is seriously my all-time favourite actor. Well, he's tied with Heath Ledger.

More fun trivia: two of Hollywood's "Irish Mafia"-- James Cagney and Pat O'Brien who were good friends--worked their last movie together. In total they starred in nine movies together with their final work being Ragtime in 1981.

- Gone With The Wind
- Casablanca
- The Godfather
- Singin' In The Rain

I haven't seen most classic film from the 1950s-1960s. I haven't seen a lot of classics fro Alfred Hitchcock either. This summer I plan to change that. :)

OT: But I have a friend from university who got a 3 month job @ Disney...and she's a GMR guide!!!!!!

These have been on my must see list for ages but I haven't gotten around to it:
Forrest Gump
Top Gun
Rain Man (which I'm DYING to see)
Giant
& When Harry met Sally

Just recently got around to watching Pretty Woman--liked it alright.

I have to say I have zero interest in ever seeing LOTR.

Also--Citizen Kane is good, but make sure you watch it on a day when you have nothing else to do. hehe

One of my fave all time movies is probably one of the most iconic movies out there and everyone who hasn't seen it def. watch it (no. I'm not talking about Titanic) Singin' in the Rain!!! It's sooooooooo good!

Same here. You've got to see Rain Man, Dustin Hoffman was amazing in it. Top Gun is Tom Cruise at his finest

I've never seen

Casablanca
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Gone With The Wind
The Godfather

Lots more I'm sure.
