Good old fashioned, low-key, Dis drama post?
Isn't anyone out there wondering if it is okay to blow bubbles in line for their child (whom is wearing Timberlands to meet the height requirements) while scattering peanut shells across the ground and whilst saving their i pad battery so they can (with their screen on the ultimate brightness) record all of POTC??

those were the days.... I just wish there was a separate forumn like "resorts" or "restaurants" that is just for fast pass plus and magic bands..... Ugh.

I always liked coming on the boards for helpful hints before our trip. Can't they make a separate section for Gripes?
:confused3:confused3

Yeah, I'm kinda missing the "Is the crane going to ruin my picture of the castle at MK" threads.
And one of my favorites: "What is the latest refillable mug design" (certainly not because I want to bring my old one.....)

~LOL. Timberlands?!? That's too funny. I thought it was those big thick soled light up Skechers! :rotfl2: Ugh... it's so sad to see what has happened here. What I wouldn't give for a good bus thread right about now! :rotfl2: Seriously, they were the best. The posters were bold & passionate -- and things got super heated but in a good way. There was hardly any kind of "mocking", back biting, mud-slinging, ad hom attacks or other malicious, cowardly behavior toward other posters. What goes on here now reminds me so much of "Revenge of the Nerds" who want payback for being lame or for being teased in school or something. There is this very spiteful, nerdy, dorkish vibe to it all. Very bizarre. :lmao:

~Anyway, back in the day, that kind of behavior was not tolerable by any of the grumpy old timers, you had to hold your own to survive. I'm so grateful to have learned from the very best. pirate: pirate: pirate:

~I miss all of the fabulous curmudgeonly old timers. These guys were so smart, terribly funny and there was nothing "psuedo" about them. They really know their stuff and were quite passionate about Disney. There are a few who randomly pop up here and there but they hardly ever post on theme parks. I also miss the really funny posters with real humor that didn't require catty backstabbing and nasty cheap shots.

~But yeah, I really miss the good, old fashion debates, discussions, and especially the enthusiasm.
:(

Thanks for the good laugh this morning. I needed that. I still don't have my coffee yet.

I have been hard at work ;) compiling a list of rides that you can't go on if you are bubble intolerant....

I'll start:

1) The Great Movie Ride - right at the beginning, there they are showering upon you!!! :rotfl2:

2) Muppet Vision 3D - when there is this beautiful lake scene and they ruin it with a pig. Distracting you with bubbles. ;)

3) Better avoid The Little Mermaid show at HS, too. Could be dangerous with all of those bubbles!!!

I see a trend here...maybe DHS didn't get the memo that bubbles could be bad for your health...:rolleyes1

I think this list is very helpful, because imagine the shock and horror that would ensue if you've just endured a line with a bubble blowing child only to board a ride with *gasp* BUBBLES!!!

Hi Doc

I am right there with you, people would climb on there soapbox and then climb down but none of this nasty stuff, and you are right the info was incredible here. Now the anger and agnst and plain meaness over speculation is incredible, I almost asked one poster if they would talk that way to my face if we were together in a room, for some reason when poeple get face to face with all 280lb full bearded huge shouldered me they usually decide that maybe a mellower approach might be better lol

I believe this is a result of our electronic interface these days, too much virtual relationships and not enough face to face freindships, when I was a kid and I ran my mouth to my older brothers freinds or even my peers and I said something way over the line or sometimes maybe even a littel smarmy (sp) I might find myself on my butt wondering what happen, really teaches you that there are bounderies that one does not cross without consiquences. Is this a free country taht you can say your mind? Sure but that does not mean that you can say your peace without comsiquences and that is what forums have allowed, speach without consiquences. (okay off my soapbox)

Have a Disney Day (73 dasy until out trip) :goodvibes

~Hey there fabulous old timer!!! As usual, you always rise to the occasion! :worship: Your posts never disappoint (never). What you've written is sad but so true and very funny, that is extremely hard to accomplish! :cool1:

~Anyway, I totally agree that those posters would *never* say those mean and vicious things to your face. People who make rude and obnoxious comments like that over the internet need to take a break from acting like Rambo behind the keyboard and get out of their Mom's basement or any basement for some fresh air! :lmao:

~Before this thread gets locked or moved, I just had to say thank you! I can't give you enough hugs for writing this!:hug::hug::hug::hug:

~I hope you & your family have a fabulous Disney vacation!!! :cool1:

I took both my cats out of school for our vacation. They are 5 and 1 and a half. They were probably labeled truant, but family time is more important. So there.

I would absolutely love a good discussion on buses and a lively debate about bubbles. I'm planning my very first trip to the World right now (we leave March 1 and I'm already about to pee my pants, no doubt there will be lots of laundry done before then!) and I get so frustrated and fed up with all the nastiness. I've told myself many a time "if I see one more post about FP+ and Magic Bands, I'm gonna throw up" but then I find little gems like this and that's why I keep coming back. Thanks for restoring my faith in the DIS :)

Just read this while sitting on a Disney bus, all the while refusing to stand and give up my seat

I opened up this thread prepared to say "What I wouldn't give
for a BIG FAT MICKEY MOUSE TAFFY APPLE RIGHT NOW!"

But I have to admit these posts cracked me up!
