What have your experiences been with Mears going to Universal from Disney?

it is possible to have the shuttle transportation with the UO park tickets.
but, that is a different cost and set up.
think Dreams Unlimited has that option.

it looks like you already checked that out and not what you are wanting.

many piggy back on original questions all the times.
just how it has been happening over the years.

.

Yes, I know. It's cool. I don't really care if we veer off course. I just didn't want the original intention of the thread to get lost before the OP's question was ever answered.

so now that we are getting closer to our trip, are there any other people here with input about transportation to universal? What do you prefer/ taxi, mears etc..? What are your experiences? What's cheaper? We are two adults and one 9 year old staying at POFQ.

I can't speak to the shuttles, but I'm an advocate for taking a taxi. We went the opposite route last year - Disney to Uni - and it was $28 including tip. Obviously not charged per person. A cab was readily available at our resort when we felt like going over to Uni, so no need to schedule one at a certain time in advance. No additional stops along the way, so took all of 10-15 minutes to get there. Worth it!

Do the cabs charge per person? We are two adults and one 9 year old. Also we will be at POFQ. Do they have cabs there?
No it was not per person for us in Jan. We took a cab from resort to resort. We used a 7 passenger van same price as a car.

I'd check as a cab may be cheaper for you but when I've used Mears it was always just a friend and I so $20 each wasn't that bad.

We just went down to the concierge at the hotel the day before we wanted to go over to Universal, we were able to get them to schedule our departure and return times as we don't want to use our Canadian cell phones in the States. They gave us a confirmation slip which we took with us and just paid when we got on the bus and then given a second slip which shows that we paid. Now our experience was different than what you'd go through as we booked the late return after Halloween Horror Nights. First time no one showed up to get us, they claimed to have sent a cab but the cab driver took someone else then as no one picked us up. Second time it took a while for the guy to show up and he was very confused on where he was taking everyone but it was just us and a few other people staying at the various All Stars so it wasn't that much of a hassle with drop offs. But obviously during regular hours they'd send another shuttle bus to pick everyone up.

That's just my experience with them, I'd use them again if I go back to Universal.
