I recently read a blog article about applying you Disney skills in other travel situations. I started me thinking about other situations in my everyday life that I apply my Disney skills to, specifically the strategy of rope dropping. For a time during Covid Aldi had 30 minutes of extra time for vulnerable people to shop (which my health status made me eligible for.) Of course that is barely enough time to get through the store so I did a few things to maximize my time. I drew a map of the store and created my "touring plan" each week with my "must-do's" (buy's), I made sure I had my quarter handy in my pocket for the cart, I arrived a bit early for rope drop then hopped out of my car when I saw the CM (employee) start to unlock the door. I spent that first 30 minutes sticking to my list and moving purposefully from one item to the next. Then I took my cart full of groceries to my car and sacked them in my hatchback to get out of the store as quickly as possible. I was usually walking out just as the general public was walking in.
What else have you all rope dropped or otherwise applied your Disney skills to?
