M.G.M?
A.K?

Thanks Shelley and Eli

I havent done it yet but we plan to get to the MK for opening and only spend a little time there. We hope to get either Cindys or Chef Mickeys for a late breakfast. After that we will resort hop to check out the Christmas decorations.

We avoided the parks when we were there for Christmas and plan to do the same this year. We enjoyed getting up, opening our Christmas stockings that we brought from home and then we went to Downtown Disney.

This year we are planning on eating at Whispering Canyon and maybe resort hop to see all of the Christmas decorations.

Elismom...

If you are really interested in Hoop Dee Do, I'd check into it quickly. Reservations can be made 2 years in advance for the show...so people are already making ressies for Christmas 2004!! In other words, the shows on Christmas Day for this year may already be sold out.

We will also be there for Christmas, and plan to skip the parks that day. We'll do the present thing in the morning, and maybe a late brunch or nice lunch somewhere. Not sure about the rest of the day's activities yet, but we're going to keep it pretty low key.

Elismom,

Whether you go to MK on Christmas depends on several factors: are you there long enough to skip a day in the parks, do you want to experience the "magic" of being in MK on Christmas day, and can you handle LARGE crowds and the fact that you will not be able to do many rides that day.

If you want to go MK that day you should get there early as it typically closes to new guests at around 10:00 am. It will reopen in the afternoon, so you should still be able to go to dinner at CRT if you don't go in the am.

The other parks are also very crowded, but not as bad as MK. I think Epcot is the best park if you want to avoid the crowds. Because of its size it seems to handle the large crowds better. Also, many people feel it isn;t as "kid friendly" as the other parks so they don't go on Christmas Day (the ultimate family day).

Whatever park you go to will be crowded. Go early and use Fast Pass if you want to go on rides. If it gets too crowded leave and return around 5:00 pm. Go and resort hop or hang out at the pool.

Have fun!!

We will be in Orlando this Christmas as well, and were thinking of driving out to Disney's town: Celebration. We have always wanted to visit there, and figure Christmas would be a really fun time. Also, Downtown Disney is gorgeous!!!

We went to MK on Christmas day last year just to see what it was like. It was packed, but we had no intention of riding anything. We did see the parade that day, had some treats, and left for other parts of WDW.
