Wondering what people have been paying per point for SSR lately? What would you offer on a stripped contract for SSR? I looked on the ROFR thread but there is always such a large range. I was wondering what people have experienced lately.
:confused3

Thanks!

We purchased a few months ago and paid $58 pp, but the contract wasn't stripped (I assume you are referring to how many pts they have available). We purchased 200 pts and the seller had not used any of their points so they had 400 available. We didn't have to pay any dues until this year. I thought it was a pretty good deal, not the best, but I was happy with it.

Thanks for the info. I offered 45 on a stripped SSR contract, no points til 2013 at all.

We aren't in a hurry to add on but it was a small contract and it was our use year so I thought I would try. The buyer wouldn't accept it and wanted to counter at 62.

No way in heck was I paying 62 for a stripped SSR when we aren't dying to add on or anything. I was just wondering if I was WAY off and being insulting to them or not. I didn't mean it insulting, just thought I would try for it. I might have gone to 50 but nothing above that for this particular contract.

Just like you, the seller needs to meet a price per point in order to feel comfortable with the sale. You are insulting no one by offering what you would like to pay and they should not feel slighted by an offer they wouldn't accept. Everyone has a buying and selling price point and both buyer and seller need to find their match.

Good Luck!

yeah good point! I just hate wasting their time or the agent's time. I was just wondering if what I was offering was laughable or just a matter of waiting around and seeing if it comes along some day.

Thanks for all the input!

45 might be a bit low, but it's not a bad starting point. It looks like mid-50s is about right for a contract with 2012 points. You could try to be a little more creative with your offer to get closer to what you are looking for. If you offer 52 with the seller paying the 2012 mfs and possibily some of the 2013s depending on the UY (Since they already used the points), you will be in about the 47 range. Although it's the same to you, it might make the seller think they are getting a better deal.

We just signed papers for SSR 150 points Feb UY. 300 points available as of yesterday (150 banked 2011 pts) 150 points forward. Paid $53.33 pp.

I think for a stripped contract what you offered was more then fare. I bought 130 pnt SSR contract a year ago and paid 59.00 PP and it came with 2009 & 2010 points with 2011 coming within 6 months of buying. I rented the 2009 points out for 10.00PP as I could not use them and rented some 2010 points to a friend for 5.00PP. By renting those points out it brought my price down to 46.00PP and I still had about 200 points left for our trip! Oh yea and I did not have to pay the maintenance fee on the 09 & 10 points!

I paid $50 a point for 270 points at SSR in August/September.

Check the ROFR thread for current passing prices but I'd recommend you offer a lot less than $50 for a stripped contract and make them pay the MFs for any year where you don't get the points (as recommended by a previous poster).

Clearly they want out, get the best deal for you. Stick to the lowest price that has passed ROFR and maybe a bit under that.

If it was me, I would have offered $40 a point. They can take your deal or have it sit for sale for a year. Few people are going to spend a few thousand dollars on something they may not be able to use for nearly 2 years (depending on the use year). If you want to add on, you are in the drivers seat. Wait for the deal you want. Prices are headed down every year.

We paid $50pp for 200 SSR points with a June UY in August 2011. It had the 200 pts from the 2011 UY + 50 points banked which expire 5/31/2012. We made sure the seller paid the 2011 dues.

As an aside, we were shopping around for contracts and I mentioned to a resale company that we were looking for a contract in the $50-$60 range at SSR with June UY for 150-200 pts. The agent told me she had a 200pt June UY contract available that was listed for $65 but the seller had accepted an offer for $50 and the deal fell through because the buyer backed out. We offered the $50, DVC waived the ROFR, and presto!

Around August of last year we paid $45 a point for 316 point contract with all of 2011 points and all 2012 points. I offered low thinking they were going to counter and they accepted. We are actually at the GCV now using our points. WE LOVE IT!! Hope that helps,

This is helpful as I am looking for a 300-350 point contract for SSR as well. It can be stripped as we aren't looking to travel until summer of 2013. Would love any leads as well. Not in any hurry, but am looking for a great deal and it would be a cash offer.

Hi, Check out Fidelity on Friday afternoons since that is when they usually update their listings.

I am currently in ROFR for a contract of 65 points at SSR, paid 50$ per point. It has 41 points from 2011 and all 2012.
Not the best deal I've seen on the ROFR thread, but I'm quite happy because small contracts are more difficult to find and they tend to have higher prices.

You bought from Fidelity? That is so funny. I bid on the same contract, but I only offered 45/pt, since I am not in a hurry to add on. Congrats!

I think one question is how many points does the contract have. Really small contracts tend to sell for more.

Maybe they compared my offer with yours and thought it was much higher :lmao:
You may have helped me buying that contract :)
Thank you.

I'm looking at a contract with 100 points and a Oct UY. No 2012 points available, 100 points start as of 2013. They are asking 65/point...what is a good starting offer?
