What has got more and more annoying as you have got older?

Not being able to sleep fully through the night.
either every little thing wakes me up or I just wake up at one point and stay awake (like with daylight savings time-my body still hasn’t fully adjusted and I hate it. I used to be able to get used to it after a day or two.)

Teens... I have even had three myself. But watching teens act stupid in public is SO obnoxious. And I always had / have to remind myself that I acted the same way and everything was hilarious back then.

Extreme temperatures. Used to tease FIL about wanting it to be like 72 degrees ALL the time. That's me Now.

Drivers being oblivious to everyone else around them. Going too slow through a light and it turning red before I get through. Or blocking an entrance I need to turn in or an intersection. Driving THE speed limit in the fast lane...next to a vehicle also doing speed limit in slow lane...on 2 lane highway (i95...looking at you).

And technology advancements that actually make things more difficult.

Social media's affect (Facebook especially) on people in varying ways. That's something that's just gradually gotten worse as more people sign up and more people are born into it.

How materialistic people are and how ungrateful people have become.
I kinda feel like this has been ongoing for ages.

This current and future generations of kids. No work ethic, showing up to work when they want to. Thinking they are so entitled and if you say something wrong to them they will go nuts.
I agree that there are young people these days that suck, and you can walk into a fast food joint and find quick examples of people who just do not care.

That said, I have coworkers in their 40's (my age range), 50's, and 60's that fit the description you wrote completely. They too act entitled and are hypocrites for doing many of the things that they complain about in others. Some of them shouldn't even be here as they were the source of violent incidents at work.

I'll also find examples of younger generations who do have a great attitude and work ethic. I don't believe this is entirely a generational thing, maybe more an upbringing thing.

Drivers who speed up to cut you off when you signal to change lanes, which sadly seems to be about 95% of drivers today. When someone signals to merge to our lane, we were taught the courtesy to slow down and let the other driver in.

  • people who expect everyone else to cater to them and their whims. In other words, self-absorbed people.
  • people who have no tolerance for people who don't agree with them
  • people who embrace cancel culture
  • people who can't laugh at themselves
  • people from CA who move here to AZ and drive their Teslas like bats out of you know what, acting like local city streets are an Indy 500 speedway
  • people who are snobs and elitist
  • Tik Tok
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • almost all news media

My DH refuses to use his turn signal and swears that if he does the jerk in the next lane will speed up and not allow him over.

Conversely to several responses here what has gotten old to me over the years is when people call on the phone to do things that are much more easily done online. One bad phone day of too many unnecessary incoming calls can ruin my productivity for the whole week as I have found the people who call when they don't need to call are also overly chatty and get annoyed if they hear typing in the background (the sound of trying to keep working while chatting). My mother in law insists on showing up in person to pay her bills anyplace she can though we have all tried telling her how much the workers hate that if they have other work to be doing. Just pay online!

Get of my lawn (phone). LOL
