what has better food and atmosphere? BD or scifi

Okay, so know that I'm saying this as someone who's never eaten at either but I've seen pics of both and read about them a lot on the DIS.

From everything I've read and heard, I'd say Sci-Fi for atmosphere but BD for food. I believe you're only safe at Sci-Fi if you get a burger and shake.

I've been to both and without question Brown Derby has better food and better atmosphere. Sci Fi is a novelty restaurant and is fun for us for lunch on a hot summer day. The burgers and reubens are good, but for us this is not dinner food. The food at Brown Derby is of better quality and is more healthy. The atmosphere is also more relaxing and upscale.

I agree also. We've eaten at both many times. Kids (and I use that term loosely since youngest is almost 30) prefer Sci Fi because it's fun but my husband and I prefer HBD and the great martinis.

I haven't been to be BD, but my kids and I LOVE Sci-Fi!! It is dark and cool inside, a great way to relax over your meal. And, I will say, I get the bacon cheeseburger and shake. It's not on the dinner menu, but you can still get a burger at dinner.

A fun compromise might be 50's Prime Time? The food there is good, pot roast, fried chicken, etc. and it is really fun to eat there.

I agree, also haven't been to the BD, but always have a fun time at Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time. If you have kids they are the way to go! I am guessing that the food at the BD is better though.

Sci-Fi and 50's are on our list every trip. Always fun, never disappointed.

Never been to BD and I think SCI FI is a must do for the atmosphere atleast once but food was so so.. ribs were ribs, DH enjoyed his reuben tho..

Now remeber BD is 2TS while SCI FI is 1

We do both each trip (different days ), sci-fi is fun and has great theming plus we've always enjoyed the food. The BD has a different atmosphere, nice and relaxing away from the hustle bustle and great service and food.
