What happens when you pull up to WL?

Our last visit to the WL was when we had Tiffany Towne Car get us at the airport and take us to the lodge. We are driving this time and I was wondering what actually is proper to do when we get there...

Do we unload our luggage and then move our car...or does someone move our car to a parking lot there?

Sorry about the "silly" question, but I'm getting all excited and making more plans.

You can park your car yourself or you can get valet parking.

If you don't plan on using valet parking: Just pull up to the Porte Cochere in front of the Wilderness Lodge then either have a bellman assist in unloading your luggage then they will hold it until your room is ready (If the bellman assist you you should give him a tip) or unload it yourself then have one person wait there while the other parks the car. If you only have one bag and can transport it from the parking lot to the Lobby you could also do that.

If you use valet parking you will tip the valet, and the bellman that unloads your luggage and holds them for you. When you are assigned a room you will just call bellservices and request a bellman to deliver your luggage to your room...he will then be tipped $1-$2 dollars per bag when he brings the luggage to your room. ( If I have a very large or heavy bag I will give more)

I'm glad you got some answers to your question. I however took your question a totally different way just from the title of your post "what happens when you pull up to the WL?".

Well when we pull up to the WL I get tingly in my stomach and my eyes usually well up with tears! And forget about when I enter the lobby doors...oh, what a rush!

What happens?You jump up and down in glee saying "I'm at the WL!!!" ...or you can unload your luggage, or have a bellman do so.

I will never forget pulling up to the front of the WL and as the bellman began to unload our stuff he encountered a shoe box FULL of bouncy balls. My son collected them at the time and had brought this shoe box with him. Bouncy balls of all colors were rolling and bouncing everywhere and all those bellmen were chasing them like crazy!! It was very funny, but not the arrival we had planned.

What happens? If you love the whole theme of WL you will be overwhelmed w/ the architecture as you pull up. The landscaping is just great, and inside take time to explore all the "little cozy areas" swallow the lump in your throat and check in!

You pull up in awe and excitemnt.The bellhop opens your door and you hear those wonderful words "Welcome Home" AAHHH to be there right now.

You all answered my questions. We already have our "mousekeeping" envelopes ready and are trying to get other tipping money ready. We are big on making sure to tip anyone that helps make our vacation that much more magical. Thanks again for all the input.

I second everyone elses opinions. Theres only one thing that counts when you pull up to the wilderness lodge. You simply wonder if its possible that any one human could have designed such a magnificent resort. You then hope beyond all hope that the man or woman who did design the resort is waiting in the lobby so that you can shake their hand and be in the presence of greatness. You then check your pulse when you step into the lobby because you are now sure you've died and gone to heaven. You then wonder what would make all the people staying at any other resort silly enough to do so. You then look at your family as if they are insane when they dare mention actually leaving this incredible resort to go to one of the parks. You then wish you were filthy rich so that way you could just rent a room there all year. These are the only things that happen when you pull up to the wilderness lodge. All other thoughts cease to exist.......
