For instance what happens to the Fireworks and Spectramagic and Fantasmic in September when the parks will be closing earlier and possibly before dark?

This will be our first time going in september and we would hate to have to miss them becase of the timing.

I will also be going in September and was somewhat wondering the same thing. If you go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and click on the calendar and put in which park and September 2004 it gives you all the park hours. If you click on the specific dates it will give you the times for parades, spectro, fantasmic, etc... It looks like the park closes at the time that the events begin. For example, for one of our days, Sept 28, the MK closes at 9:00, Spectro is at 8:00 and Wishes is at 9:00.

I believe the simple answer is:

If there will be fireworks and parades that must be done in the dark scheduled, the park will stay open until they start and it will be dark.

If the park closes during the daylight then there wasn't any scheduled fireworks, parades, or shows.

In September the sun sets after 7pm and before 8pm so if you see the closing at 7pm, there will not be any fireworks. If it closes at 8pm there may be a show if it is later in the month when the sun sets before 7:30pm.
