What happens when someone joins your vacation after you've checked in

Been to the World SO many times, but this I've never run across.

My son's girlfriend may fly in for part of our trip, but she won't arrive until a few days after us. My question is...how does this work with FD? I know every time I check in, my family pretty much is so excited, they are off doing other things, and even though I KNOW they don't ask to physically see my family, or check IDs , they are absolutely supposed to. Which is fine... But is there any way to get her in on the free dining without her being present at check in?

I would call and let them know you want to add someone to the reservation and let the CM know that one in your party will be arriving later in your stay. You'll have to add the base ticket for her. When you check in you can let the CM know that the GF will be arriving a few days later. She can have her key made when she arrives. If they want to give you all of the keys and put everyone on FD from Day 1, that is their call.

Add her to room, and check-in like you always do. I've done this many times and during free dining, I just make sure I have the magical express set-up for the different fly in dates for everyone in the party. She will accrue her free dining credit from day 1.

What I'm afraid of is...what if I check her in and for some reason she doesn't come! (She's a little flighty). Then I go to the front desk and they get upset? I would rather they know what's going on, but want to protect myself too. And we are driving, so no ME for us

Well, I called and the CM was no help...imagine that...lol. She said of course that she would have to have exactly the same plan, but she would just check in when she arrives. Well, she's 17 I guess I will just have to leave the park, meet her at POP and then check her in. Which is fine but inconvenient.
