What happens to my FP+ if I need to cancel a few nights at the beginning of our trip?

We had planned to arrive on Oct 8, but then I saw that The Chew was coming to Epcot for taping on Oct 5,6 & 7. I added on nights to the beginning of our trip......just in case we're lucky to get Chew tickets. Ideally, we could get tickets for Oct 7 and then we would only arrive 1 day earlier than we had planned. I keep checking multiple times a day for the tickets, but nothing as of yet. If we don't get the tickets, then we will go back to our arrival on Oct 8, so I will cancel out the room for those earlier nights. The problem is that we don't know when we will find out about those tickets.

Our 60 day window is almost here and I want to make our FP+. I'm worried about cancellation of our FP+ if I end up cancelling our room for the earlier nights. Please explain to me how this works.

Thanks so much.

Last I heard Disney was not allowing you to cancel days off a reservation like that. Not sure if they have stuck hard and fast with that change in policy, but that's how it was when we needed to last year. They made us rebook, subject to availability.

If you need to rebook and your tickets were part of your package, you could lose FPs. If your tickets are separate, you should be fine.

This is not part of a package. Actually it is a DVC room at SSR. So I guess the correct terminology for me to use would be modifying my reservation. I sure hope that with our DVC room that this isn't the case.

As long as you have the correct number of ticket entitlements, you won't lose your FPs.
