What happens to a FP in the event of rain or ride breakdown??

We are headed to WDW on Saturday :yay:

I see that there is some rain in the forecast (I know, I know, Florida weather could change at any minute). But I'm just wondering what happens to a scheduled FP if the event is cancelled due to rain or a ride like TT is closed due to rain. What about ride breakdowns? If you have a FP for a ride and you can't use it due to rain or closure, are you given another FP for that same ride????

If TT is closed or down, would they give you a FP you could use for Soarin instead??

Just trying to plan for many contingencies. Thanks for any words of wisdom you can give me.

I was just there last week and 7D shutdown during my FastPass time. What happens is that you will get an email if you have access to it saying that the ride is shutdown and that you have two options:
1) Use your fastpass on a list of other similar rides and forfit the original FastPass. They listed which rides, they were most of the popular rides in MK.
2) Wait until the ride opens again (if it opens again that day) and use the FastPass at any time on the ride when it re-opens.

I don't have any idea what happens if a parade, Fantasmic, fireworks, etc. are cancelled. It was sunny the entire time I was there. I doubt they will be able to help much in those situations because they can't add all the FastPass people from day 1 to day 2, because there would be to many people. I assume they just figure that everyone else also lost out on seeing the event, you do to. Just my assumption on that part.

Thanks for the info, marauder!
I think you are probably right about the shows and parades. I don't see how they could accommodate for that. I was mainly concerned about rides. And particularly at those parks with tiering. It looks like it will rain on our Epcot day and we have a FP for TT. I am just hoping that if the TT FP is unusable, that we could get Soarin instead. I would hate to only be able to trade it for a FP for Figment or SE or something else that you really don't even need a FP for during a low crowds week.

One other question - if you get an email offering to switch out your FP for something else, do you have to use it that same day at that same park?? Or could you possibly come back another day during your trip to use it?

My email said you had to use either option that day. It is a pretty fair trade, in my case you either gambled that 7d would reopen or use it on a ride like Thunder Mountain. We gambled on 7d and it did reopen. No problem using the FastPass at a later time although the FastPass line was a little longer then normal since it was shut down for a few hours.
