You have an early dinner assignement but you miss your assigned dinner time by about an hour or so? I'm wondering because on our Cozumel day our excursion gets done at 5pm and then we want to shop a bit before heading back to the ship. We don't want to rush back for 6pm. Can we get into the later seating or will be forced to eat sandwiches from room service for dinner?
(I thought of doing Palo's but we will be eating there the night before (hopefully) and we don't want to miss the Pirate Party pirate: on deck at 9:45pm.

Is there a buffet open for dinner each night?

Thanks!! :teeth:

You can eat at Topsiders when you get back on board the ship. I understand it is a buffet salad bar -- but a served dinner. :cool1:

Topsiders has a dinner and there is also a late night buffett during the pirate party.....deck 9.....all the more reason we ALWAYS choose late seating....JMHO

Like DisneyElf said, Topsiders is your best bet. You can't go to a later seating, because someone else will be sitting at your table.

You could always eat in Cozumel. That's what we did when we were there last year. Lots of good places.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't know about the late night buffet that night and I wasn't sure if Topsiders had a dinner buffet. That's what we'll probably do. I wasn't too sure about eating in Cozumel... :scratchin
Any recommendations there? (Is food safety a concern there?)
Thanks again everyone!

The pic in my prof. is actually Carols and Charlies in Cozumel. The family we sailed with ended up eating there and missing the "show" at dinner. I wouldn't miss it if you haven't sailed the Western before. Switch to late seating!!!!!

Thanks Lampskies,
We're so used to eating early that I don't think we'd enjoy eating at 8:30pm every night. We are deifnately the early to bed early to rise kind. Most nights I'm ready for bed by 10pm. Even on vacation. However, I am up at 6am and raring to go!
How close to the dock is Carlos and Charlie's?

Hi, there. We missed dinner on Pirate night because our dune buggy tour ended at 5:30 instead of 4:30. By the time we got back on the ship it was 6:15 and we hadn't had showers yet. So, we wound up eating at Topsiders instead. The meal was served instead of buffet style although the salad/antipasta was buffet style. It was a bummer missing Pirate Night but the dune buggy trip was worth it. We talked about the implications of an early seating before we left for the cruise and agreed that it could happen (missing dinner) and it's no big deal. One thing I would do differently is letting our table mates and server know ahead of time we might not be there.

The first thing I would do is talk to the head server ahead of time to check out your options. They do go out of their way to make your sailing MAGICal. In addition to Topsiders, you might ask if there is room for your family to eat at the late seating for that night. The worst that can happen is that they say no.

Like the post above, you should check with the head server, there are many empty tables and they will go out of there way to get you seated. The family next to us one night did just that.

Treat yourself..eat in Cozumel. Carlos and Charlies is excellent and right across from the dock. No need to rush back on to the ship, stay out and enjoy the port.

Any of the fast food places, the buffet or room service, if you want to get back on ship for dinner.

Just for anyone reading this taking a Wonder cruise....Beach Blanket Buffet is not open for dinner. Miss your seating and its Plutos/Pinnochios or room service.

Thanks for the great advice everyone. I think we will try to talk to the head waiter and see if they can get us in to the late seating for that night. I wouldn't mind missing one dinner but it is pirate night and it is our first so we don't really want to miss out on that. We are only a family of four so we may get lucky! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Just to add my 2 cents. We always sail with late seating dinner. When we sailed in December, we missed the beginning of the Pirate Deck Party because we didn't get out of dinner until about 10pm (which was actually early for us, all week our table was pushing to get out by 10:15 to get seats at some of the shows in Rockin' Bar D). So if they are able to put you at a table in late seating, I'd let the server know if you are trying to get to the Deck Party as well so they serve you quickly.

That's a very good point...thanks for mentioning that.
