What happens if you show up three hours early for car rental?

I booked a fantastic "weekly" rate for 5 days with Alamo for $106.00 plus tax for this Saturday through Thursday. Our flight now is leaving three hours earlier. Should I modify the reservation, or just wait until I get there? Will I lose my good rate if I modify it? I can't check the price without going through with the modification. Has anyone done this?

Yes, you can check the price without confirming the modification - once you go through the new trip details and pick a car size, it will show a screen with your original reservation and the new one and ask which you would like to keep.

no you have to wait the three hours and watch other people rent car sorry just joking :rotfl2: you could try and just make new res see how much it be it be it might not be that much more. and if you modify it online it ask you if you want to keep the oringal or book the mdify so it give you a chance before it fanily but 106 for 5 days is great mco is a nice airport with lot of shop and good food court. have fun 106 you most of got alamo on a good day :woohoo: that alone make the trip worth going alone beside the fact that you going to disney.

They will modify your rate at time of check-in for your car to include the extra hours. If you included your flight info on your reservation, they are aware of the time change. I've shown up early before with no problem getting my vehicle, without adjusting anything on the reservation. I would only notify them if your flight changed to a later arrival time.

Any of the following might happen if you leave your reservation as-is:
1. They may give you the car early, when you arrive.
2. They may make you wait until your reserved time.
3. They may offer you a car early at a higher rate.

I took your advice and I was indeed able to see the modified price.....yuck. It was another $165 for the extra three hours! I'm not going to just risk it. I'm going to call them this morning and see if there's anything they can do. I've shopped the other sites and of course everything is expensive. I'll let you know what happens, thanks.

Have you checked to see if there is a time that the weekly rate starts? Sometimes there are certain times for the discount.

There may be no cars when you arrive, they could change your times so that you need to bring it back 3 hours early.

We got a car two hours early in Fort Lauderdale once on a Thursday. The rental car employee told us that since we used a code, we would need to return it on Monday at the same time we took the car, since the code only applied to a certain time period. If we didn't, the cost would more than double. We didn't want to spend quite so much time at the airport at the end of the trip and decided we would just eat the cost for arriving a few hours late, but they only charged us the original amount. I think we just got lucky though, and you might just have to pay more.

I just talked to a very nice agent at Alamo, and I was able to rebook my res for three hours earlier for just an extra $2.79! Can you believe that? Now I don't have to worry, and I just printed off my new reservation with "proof".

It was great to actually talk to a person, and describe what I needed, she was so accommodating. I never could have received this deal or service just by going online. :)
