What Happens If You Show Up Late for Your ADR??

On one of our days it seems that we may come late to our Le Cellier ADR because of EMH the night before. Will we still be seated?

It depends on how late you are, and it is up to the discretion of the restaurant.
Most restaurants will hold a place for at least 15 minutes. But if you are an hour late, you very likely will not be seated right away, if at all.

As long as you are somewhat close to your ADR you won't have too much of a problem, you just might have to wait a little extra. If you show up an hour late or something like that they might turn you away or put you at the end of the walk-up line (if they have one). It depends on how busy they are.

Usually it's reported that if you are more than 15 minutes late you will be put into the "standby" queue. Not entirely certain what that means for Le Cellier, because they're so busy they don't often have a "standby" queue.

Not sure why you'd get to Le Cellier late because of an EMH the night before, unless you plan on sleeping past their 12:30 opening time.

With a place like LE Cellier, don't be late.They wait the 10-15mins, and then they don't seat you.We saw it happen 2x on our trip to people that were late at Le Cellier.

Since Le Cellier doesn't open until 11:30 I don't understand how EMH the previous night would cause you to be late. Did you mean a different restaurant where you have an early breakfast scheduled?

It looks like you'll be there at the start of free dining so that will make it even more difficult if it is Le Cellier and you are late. I would make every effort to be on time.

I can firmly say from experience if you are late, or anyone of your party is late they can and WILL enforce the rule of cancelling your ressie. Especially if it is a popular place.

Our experience at Ohana last Dec was this:
My best friend lives in Orlando, so when we are at WDW she meets us at Ohana for dinner.
We arrived 10 mins early for our adr, only she was caught in traffic somewhere on Disney property. She called and said she was hurrying and on her way but may not make it.
When they called to seat us asked where the rest of our party was and we explained. The hostess then told us we wouldn't be seated until the whole party was there and if they weren't there in 10 mins we would lose our ressie.
My friend showed up 2 mins before the 10 would've been up....DH went to tell them we were all there and they HAD already canceled us!!!
We had to wait for another 15 mins while DH discussed with the manager that we had been told we had 10 mins and were all there with 2 mins to spare.
We were seated but we had to fight for it.

Moral of the story....don't be late, don't even think about it because they will give your table away. Too many people waiting to pay them and not be late.

Same here. We've seen it at Le Cellier and also at Chef Mickey's.

Thanks for this story...DH and I are never late for our ADRs. Even with two small kids in tow we are often early. But in Oct we are going with his parents and my dreaded SIL and her family. She is late for EVERYTHING. Chances are we will be meeting them at the dinner ADR since we will be coming from the resort after naps. We were just talking the other day on how to deal with her if she is late. I will NOT miss our ADR b/c of her, or make our kids wait since they will be 2.5 and 1 yrs. old. I was thinking of telling her they hold the res. for 10 min. If she calls us to say she is running much later then that we are just going to tell the rest. that they aren't coming and go in. They will have to fend for themselves. It sounds harsh but she has already made the comment that they don't like the thought of leaving a park to get to a dinner ADR. I suggested they don't do the DDP then so they don't waste credits but that was appalling to her too. Oh well. But anyway..thanks for the story..now I can confirm to DH that they will cancel us. We have ADRs at popular places too.

You know..that would have been a great idea had I not given her an itinerary when we booked the ADRs! Duh! But the wine has me thinking........

When we took our youngest son and his wife a few years ago. That's exactly what we did. With every ADR we told my D-I-L that it was 30 minutes earlier that it actually was. My D-I-L is the type that has always been at least 30 minutes to an hour late for everything.

You hear of brides who are late to their own wedding? She was actually one. It took her mom and both sisters to get her to the church and then we all had to literally throw her dress on her and rush down the aisle. She got there like 15 minutes before the ceremony started. All the guests were already seated and she wasn't even dressed. My son who had known her tendencies for being late for years was the only person not in a panic. Everyone had threatened her for a few weeks before the wedding about being late and her sisters swore they'd have there on time, even if they had to drag her in the back door naked and screaming.
