What happens if you get to the port too early?

Hi,
We are arriving by Taxi at the port at around 10:00 am maybe a few minutes before or after.

We are departing on a Saturday cruise. Does anyone know if we will be allowed to be dropped off and wait for the terminal to open, or will we be sent away in our cab?

Thanks very much

We got to the terminal at 10:00 am. We were told it was too early and we could wait under the big white tent in the parking lot where the taxis drop off, or we could go drive around and come back about 10:15 -10:20 and wait in line with the other early birds. AS it was, we decided to go find the car rental place.

By the time we got back it was 10:40 and we were able to get out with all the luggage and hubby took the rental car back. I waited for him to get back in the terminal before we could check in and get in line to board the ship. We were among the first people to board the ship at about 12:30. It was very fun and festive. We had the whole day to explore, but since our staterooms were not ready until 1:30, we had to lug the soda and beer we had brought with around with us. It was a pain, and finally at 1:15, the nice elevator man let us drop our stuff in our room early.

So do the taxi's drop off under the big white tent no matter what time you show up?

How far of a walk is it to the terminal from the tent with all of our luggage and a six year old.

Thanks

Last Sat. 3/27 when we left we passed the front of the terminal walking to the tent area (about 2 blocks) and people were waiting at the doors with luggage in tow! I couldn't believe it because it was 9:00 am. At first I thought they were people going home until I heard people talking and asking each other how the luggage is going to handled? All bags had the famous yellow tags. Check in begins at 10:30. Kathy

We arrived early for the March 20th cruise and were parking RV but to early to pay so the attendant in the lot told us to wait in the lot by the white tent....I thought we would be one of the last people attended to...but in reality all the people waiting to pull curbside and drop off are last to be let in to drop off....a luggage attendant showed up at the tent soon after 10 and handled our luggage into carts right there and told us she would take care of it all and go on into the port....no waiting in security because noone else was being allowed in...the white tent is where you want to be with luggage in hand and you will be one of the first into the building.

We were one of those that had to wait in line in our car to get into the port to drop off luggage. I was very tempted while waiting to get our luggage out and walk it over to the white tent!!!

Here is a pic of us waiting in a line of cars to make the left into the DCL parking lot to drop off our luggage......we got there a bit after 10:00 and they did not let us into the parking lot until about 10:30 or so.

Is there a difference if you drive your own car, or use a towncar service?
Our first cruise, we used Disney transportation. The 2nd time, we had a towncar, and arrived at about 10:30....pulled right up to the terminal building, they took our luggage in a cart, and we walked right through security.

Thanks for the picture,

So if we take a cab, do you still have to wait in line of cars, or do they allow the cabs to drop off at the white tent area.

I hate to be feeding a taxi meter while in traffic, not a very relaxing way to start the day.

Thanks

We were in a towncar for our 3/20 cruise and he pulled up to the white tent area. Last March we used a limo and they pulled up to the white tent. When was your cruise when the towncar dropped you off in front of the terminal? I always assumed the drop off by the white tent was because of the new security post 9/11. Drop off right by the terminal door would of been nice. Katy
