What happens if you do this on RotR? (slight SPOILER for beginning of ride)

What happens if you mess with the Empire officers at the beginning? Nothing malicious of course, just something like snapping a selfie with them when they have you stand on the different colored lines before boarding your Rebel spy cart. Or another idea I had, singing a couple of lines from Candace's "In the Empire" song from Phineas and Ferb Star Wars (especially if you're in a group of 6 or so).

(Wish I'd thought of these when we rode it for the first time last Friday)

I mean, what can they do? All they can do is glare, talk sternly, or try to embarrass you. Not like they'll toss you off the ride for selfies or singing, while everyone is lining up.

Anything that can be done kindly or with humor I think most of them enjoy. It's nice to kid around with them a little and see how good in character they stay... On my last trip I rode several times (I was there for 2 weeks) and...

--I did snap a selfie with one of the officers and got the evil eye....

--A friend and I were getting off the "transport" and going to be interrogated and she said "I can't believe we got captured again" and the First Order Officer had the BEST comeback: "I can believe you're that stupid" (and we just laughed so hard)

I wouldn't do anything that impedes other guests, though, like get on the wrong color (as that can slow the whole ride/confuse other guests). Or do anything that really slows progress of them getting folks through the ride

I enjoy polite banter with them and most of them are willing to play. One of them, I told I would talk for chocolate. He broke character and laughed. We went back and forth about chocolate and the Empire. It was fun.

There you go! (and I hope you said "Smile real big!")

Agree 100%! I'd sing just a couple of lines (especially if I were in a group), just to see how they react.

I think it depends on the CM and the group. I've had some who were pretty good about staying in character and some who never actually got into character. I had on my Georgia cap one trip and the CM told me I had to take it off and he would throw it in the trash for me. I told him over my dead body (everyone laughed). He stayed in character and told me that could be arranged.

I've had some really good banter with some of the first order. In my experience, I think many, if not most of them, appreciate when you engage with them (in a polite way that's mindful of others). They certainly won't hesitate to mess with you.

Some of the better interactions we've had:
"There's no such thing as beyond infinity" (I was wearing a to infinity and beyond shirt). I argued back that by definition infinity goes on forever so there must be a beyond.

To my husband "Where is this Pizza Planet?" (his shirt that day). They bantered back and forth about that for a bit while my husband claimed he just goes wherever the ship takes him. He then later asked me where the secret base was and I replied "it's on Pizza Planet."

I've also had them question what on earth I was wearing on my head (Minnie Ears), and they really love to go after anyone who goes to/says the wrong color line.

We had some really good banter with the CMs. My sister blindly followed the group in front of us and I blindly followed her The CM there playfully shouted "Where do you think you're going?" From there the banter just kept on going about us thinking we know where we were suppose to go and how much of trouble makers our group was. There were 6 of us in our group and we all couldn't stop giggling at that point and that of course got us in more "trouble". I will say most of the CMs here are on point! Loved our experience that day.

When I rode it with my daughter, it had been pouring outside, so we had our ponchos on. One of the officers took a look at us and yelled:
“REMOVE YOUR PONCHOS, RESISTANCE SCUM” and I had never felt more like a Jedi.
We did take them off, obviously.

Once we’ve been captured and are being processed…I like to mess with buttons and switches on any consoles within reach as we are lined up in groups. That’s gotten some fun scolding!

It depends. They can just make it as fun as possible by staying in character. I will also say my mom uses an ECV due to severe arthritis and every First Order officer was respectful of that in character if that makes sense. they would ask if she could get out and she would say yes and they would escort her where she had to go, and then continue the act once she got out and into the interrogation area.

In my experience they stay in character and are super fun to interact with! They also will be the ones to make the interaction start, if people are just standing around chilling. I've been "threatened" when Disney bounding as a citizen of Batuu, or had my porg sternly addressed by someone in the First Order. I think the main rules would be (obviously) be polite and don't do anything that would take away from the experience of other guests.

Many times, they seem to ask me, what color are you standing on?

I always reply, not sure I am colorblind. My wife and children will normally chime in, yeah he is...

Sometimes they do not know what to say, others have said, "well just stay with those people". We do normally all laugh, and once in a while you will see them crack a smile...

One time when the ride broke down, they all came out of character at once. It was kinda weird. They said have a seat on the floor, this will take a few minutes. They offered is anyone needed to use the rest room, and those that did were escorted out of the "ship" and into an "office corridor" to the bathrooms.

Same here, but the officer added “It doesn’t rain in space. “. I loved it.

As others have said, they're super fun about it. I wore an Empire themed shirt the last time I was on. My interrogator ribbed me for it, I gave him crap for the FO not being as cool as the Empire and he gave crap right back for the Empire being destroyed. We had the whole group cracking up, which just gave him more fodder for scolding us.

They are amazingly good at their jobs! One asked me what I was doing on the ship and I said I was on a diplomatic mission. They asked "for who?" and I said, "The Senate!" to which they said, "Well that's interesting since the Senate was disbanded years ago. Try again."

My son wore an empire insignia badge and they chastised him for someone of his rank being a traitor.

The cast members by far were my favorite part. We had to be evacuated from the ride twice due to mechanical issues (they gave us fastpasses to come back) and I was so excited to get to do the pre-shows again.
