What happens if my reservation will end a few days after a discount ends?

What happens if there is a discount for the beginning of my stay, but it ends during my stay. The back half of my reservation is not in the timeframe for the discount.

Do I really have to make 2 reservations? Or will the discount carry over the entire time period? (wishful thinking) Is there a difference to the answer depending on if it is a room only reservation or a package?

TIA!!

If you are talking about free dining you are fine as long as your check-in day falls with in a free dining period. example lets say FD is 11/11 - 11/23 and you check-in on 11/23 and are staying until 11/28, because you are checking-in on the 23rd... you will have FD your full stay. Your check-in date HAS to be on a FD date though. (those are not proposed FD dates, just an example)

As the pp said, if it's for FD, as long as you check in by the last day, FD will carry through for the entire time. For a RO discount, you can make 1 reservation as long as your check in date falls within the discount period; however, the discount will only apply to those nights offered for that discount. RO discounts are date specific and do not carry through for dates not offered in the discount. For example, the RO promo going on now is for stays ending 9/28. If your trip is for 5 nights checking in on 9/27, the discount would apply to the 27th & 28th and you would pay rack rate for the other 3 nights. If the discount starts in the middle of your stay, you would have to book 2 separate reservations in order to take advantage of the discount for part of your trip. HTH :).

Thanks everyone! I think I now understand the rules involving any free dining promo or a room only reservation.

Now....how about a "General Package Discount"? For example, last year, there was a General Package Discount offered in the Feb/March time-frame. According to Mousesavers, the discount was a: "package deal for general public with 15%-30% off room rates and discounted 4- to 10-day tickets" and was good for stay dates from 2/18 to 3/23. If my vacation started on 3/20 and ended on 3/28 - would I have been able to take advantage of the package discount for my entire stay since I was checking in before 3/23?
