What happens if I don't pay my balance due by 45 days?

Rooms at the Contemporary opened up today for my dates so I switched our reservation quickly.

The CM said to call tomorrow to leave my $200 deposit. Technically, the balance is also due tomorrow since tomorrow is 45 days.

She said that even though my 45 days is tomorrow, they won't cancel my reservation if I don't pay the balance tomorrow. My $200 holds my room until I can pay. They will just send me a balance due invoice notice and I can send my payment in then. She said I could send $1,500 one week, $1,000 the next, etc.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? I don't want to lose my $200!!!!

On the back of my conformation it states that final payment is due 45 days from arrival. once you make a ressie they hold it for 14 days then it is automatically canceled if payment hasn't been received. If ressies are made less than 45 days out the payment is due in full at time of ressies.

I would call and ask another CM or speak to a supervisor just to double check what you were told. Would hate to see you lose $$$ and your ressies too.

Even if you had not changed to the contemporary your final payment would have been due now, right?

I would just pay the whole thing if it is due - why take chances, sometimes they are not on the ball at Disney.

I had a problem with our December 2002 reservations....I had made the initial deposit and then made sure to send my payment (mailed a MO) for the balance due prior to the 45 day mark....It took 27 days for my MO to arrive at WDTC...(I tracked the MO daily and it literally took that long for it to be cashed)...
I was in frequent contact with WDTC and they assured me that since I had made my deposit...they would hold the reservation....and they did....
I would still attempt to abide by the 45 day rule tho....too nerve wracking to worry about the ressie.

When we went in Jan., I had sent the yellow sheet back with my credit card info to pay my balance. When we arrived at the BC, they did not have it. 2 CMs looked and looked but it just wasn't in their system. They took my credit card info and said they would charge it now, no problem. They ask me to check with my bank to be sure it hadn't been charged earlier. So, I hadn't paid my balance and I didn't know it. My room was held with my deposit.

Do you have to send a check or can you just pay with a credit card which is so much easier!
I'm getting ready to make may room reservations for next year's vacation and I thought i could do this with a credit card.
