What Happens at the Beach Club... Travels with Teens, Take Two, (PTR) 4/6 p. 29

I have yet to try a Sunken Treasure. It is just so "green". :scared1:
What is its overall flavor? :scared:

The most distinguishable flavor is melon, from the Midori. It is like a Pearl Harbor, which has Midori, vodka and pineapple juice, but it is a bit fruitier because it has the oj.

And you know what? I don't think I realized until I was thinking about the response to your question, but the color of the Sunken Treasure is DIS-green! Am I the only one who has not noticed that.

:upsidedow

Best.update.EVER :goodvibes I am :rotfl: and my poor pup is looking at me like I've lost my mind! Great pics! How dare those piggies try to save chairs with Sunken Treasures..:lmao: Not wise, I would've drank them all!! Do they give out pails at SAB, or just have those around out of curiosity :hyper: Or did you ladies eat a LOT of ice cream :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed it.

I think this has been my only choreographed trip report chapter. We had a blast together that morning!

Although the pails are normally given out with the Hurricane Hanna's kids meal, we told Rocky the waitress that she might as well have the bartender serve our Sunken Treasures in those as it would result in fewer trips for her.

:rotfl2:

I'll be wearing my SAB team t-shirt on the Disney Fantasy next week. Wonder if anybody will comment???

Have a great trip!

Let us know if you get any reaction. I actually had a CM in EPCOT comment on my shirt- I got a high five.

:)

Great report - staying at the beach club in Nov

:welcome: and thank you!

I don't know if you have been over to the Beach & Yacht Club FAQ thread yet, but that's where this all started. Lots of great information over there, especially on the first couple of pages.

Click on the link in my signature!

I'm still laughing at the pool noodles.

I am so much more excited for my trip now! As if that was possible...

Glad you enjoyed that. I'm excited for you, too!

:goodvibes

Great trip report Dee.

Thank you so much!

It sounds like something I might like. I'll let you know if I can work it into my schedule. With all those Grey Goose slushies at F&W, I might have trouble fitting a Sunken Treasure in. ;)

Hilarious! This is good stuff. And I love the cartoon at the beginning. As Dee may recall, our boys believe that Illuminations = interpretive dance. But if one of the boys is not present for Illuminations, the interpretive dance cannot take full form because. Our oldest says that, without all three of them, he would "look a fool." So I wonder why he does not think he "looks a fool" with both of his brothers present and his response . . . well, see Dee's cartoon but substitute the word "brother" for "friend." No need to substitute the outfits, however, as our teen boys are dressing up as Anna and Elsa for the WDW 5K in January (wigs included.)

OK, so these photos are too funny. But what I really love is contemplating how the two of you planned these things and then executed that plan. I'd love to have been there to take photos of the bystanders (or byswimmers) who witnessed the fun/mayhem!! As I'm laughing audibly at my computer, I'm thinking I must join you next time.

All in the name of research!

:rotfl2:

(Let's hope that isn't you laid out on the floor after all of your testing)

Here's a couple more for your boys!

I LOVE that they are dressing as Anna and Elsa for the 5K. They aren't theatrical by any chance, are they? Do you need an Olaf?

I have to give all of the credit to Ninja Mom- the poses and captions were her idea. I was just there to "go with the flow" in the lazy river.

We will definitely let you know when there is a next time so you can plan accordingly!

Chiming in to agree - best update ever. If only I'd known about the lobster omelet. I would easily have ditched my mom at the CL lounge.

:rotfl: You could "feel" the fun in the pics!!! :thumbsup2

I didn't even think about the bystanders :rotfl2: Classic!

Love love love the sheep/squirrel! Boys are out and about already this morning, so I just sent those to them. Appropriate timing, too, since new dance class starts tomorrow! Thankfully, the age groupings work out so that they could be in the same class. (That may or may not be because I requested a change in the age groupings.)

Oh, bummer! There was plenty of room around the table for you!

:)

We had a lot of fun together. We didn't actually pay attention any bystander reaction, but I'm sure some of our antics were noticed.

Glad you enjoyed the two pictures. The squirrel one I had seen and when I was searching for that I found the sheep picture.

Smart move with the "suggestion" about age groupings.

:thumbsup2

I am the Olaf . . .

:lmao:

That made me smile!

You know I need photos!!!

I can't believe I missed all this fun! LOL
You are so creative.
Now I know exactly why you've been having trouble keeping up with your DL/ Hawaii TR.

Just catching up again, Dee! Love your Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team Warmups! :lmao: It was HI-larious!! I see you were making use of some photoshop there. I work with Photoshop everyday at work so let me know if you need any pointers!:thumbsup2

Between the FAQ thread, this report, the Disneyland/Hawaii report, back to school, work and life, it is not easy keeping up!

In fact, tonight I am supposed to be in 4 different places at the same time (Parent Driver's Ed Class, dropping the boys off for a night class, Orientation night at the middle school and Spamalot rehearsal for Ben)

:scared1:

We had so much fun at the pool.

Thanks so much for the offer of help with Photoshop- that was actual ~NM who made the additions to the photos I took. I believe you saw my whining on FB that I have Photoshop, but have yet to take it out of the box.

I figure first I should learn to use my big girl camera, then spend some time figuring out how to improve the pictures.

But I would love to take you up on your offer for assistance someday!

:thumbsup2

I returned to my room to change and get ready for the afternoon. I was heading next door to EPCOT for some solo fun and lunch.

But first, I had a little bit of time for my favorite experience at Disney: visiting with Teena!

While we were talking, we spied a bride

A paparazzi shot for you, MEK

At the time of my visit, the Beach Club Concierge Lounge was undergoing a renovation to refurbish and enlarge the lounge. While the work was being done, the lounge was temporarily moved to the resort’s Presidential Suite. I was able to go up and get a peek so I could share some pictures of the set up. No photos had been posted of the new location yet.

I was given a very brief tour of the temporary Concierge Lounge and snapped a few pictures, but I didn't want to disturb the people who were in there.

I didn't get a closeup of the snacks- homemade chips and dip, cookies, etc.

The future lounge, under renovation, is behind this construction wall.

I can’t wait to see pictures of the work once it is completed. Could be as early as this week!

Research mission accomplished, it was time to get to EPCOT.

I decided I would time the walk, at a leisurely pace, from the Beach Club lobby to the International Gateway (EPCOT entrance)

This is where our room is located

It took me 1 minute to walk from the BC lobby, along the outside pathway, to where the BC Secret Exit lets out. Then, another 4 minutes to the IG.

Your mileage may vary, but it was 5 minutes for me to get from my favorite resort to my favorite park.

Thanks for the sneak peek at the presidential suite :) . Most likely the only time I will ever see it lol
Love that you got to see a bride and manage to snap a pic of her.
The photo of you and Teena radiates happiness and friendship :)
Your dedication to research for the faq board knows no bounds and for that I thank you :)

Love the paparazzi shot! I'm trying hard to figure out how soon I can return to the YC/BC.

Dee - you busy lady. Thanks for the update. So nice your extra visit with Teena and pictures of the lounge.

The temporary lounge...I should ask when the renovations should be done, but I won't. ;)

Such a great room location. Love that easy walk to Epcot.

Rebecca
