Comes to the DIS!!

Just thought I would share some of what DH and I experienced at Bike Week in Ocean City, MD. We went down with several other couples, including Ron and Kathy, our "bestest" friends!!!

We left early Thursday morning to head down. Got there around 2pm. Checked into the Paradise Plaza and unpacked all our luggage. Had a nice seafood buffet at the Bonfire. I love Alaskan crab legs!!!

The next several days were filled with visiting different sites that included vendors selling anything motorcycle related. Took in the beach on Saturday with DH enjoying some boogie boarding. The waves were unbelievable thanks to hurricane Igor!!!! Strolled down the boardwalk and on the beach every day. Weather was beautiful:thumbsup2! Later in the evenings were spent on the balcony watching bikes go by.

Sunday came way to fast, time to load up and come home. Right now I am doing my laundry and then time to wash the bike down.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!!!

Looks like fun!! Head on down to Daytona next month for some more fun at Biketoberfest! DH and I got married at Bike Week in Daytona so we go back there often.;)

My Mom was volunteering there on Friday. She was manning the soda booth- they made a ton of $$ for her "optimiss" club. The bikers are all very generous. And my mom said this years group was the best behaved they have seen in years. (In fact she said it was a tad boring this year for her:rotfl2:)'Glad you had fun! And Ocean City appreciates it!

We were actually planning to go down to Florida next year. Ride down to Key West and back. But plans changed and we are going on a cruise. Maybe do it in 2012.

We are boring bikers;). I saw no roudyness, and only 1 bike pulled over by the cops, all the rest where cars. And yes, biker's tend to be a very generous and friendly group!!! What location was your mom at???

Glad you had so much fun. We are not bikers, but we accidently planned a weekend in OCMD during Bike Week last year. Picture the ride into town....one mini-van in a sea of bikes! So funny. It was such a neat time to go, though, we really enjoyed it. The whole city just rumbled all weekend long. Fantastic people everywhere - somewhat rowdy later at night on the boardwalk, but a good rowdy (rather than the usual stupid-rowdy).

You will love it!! Oh, and you won't see the rowdiness there, but you will see more of some things than you want to!! :scared1:

The ride to Key West is awesome!! Be sure to take in a sunset, but more importantly, check out the moonrise. When we've been there, I've enjoyed that more than the sunset. :cloud9: It's an interesting place too!

I got married in Daytona during bike week also back in 1990, but we are bikers... miss the Boot Hill Saloon!! :thumbsup2

I was accidently down there this weekend and yes all the bikers were very nice!! The traffic coming hime yesterday not so nice!!!

This was my first weekend of living here during Bikeweek, so it was interesting! My DH loves it and we spent the weekend cruising in our car, watching all the people and their different bikes.

I was honestly glad though when it was over. The rumbling and revving I heard day in and out drove me insane and trying to get to DS's school which is right by the Harley dealership- OMG, I've never seen so many bikes! Glad you had a good time and enjoyed the Shore and all it has to offer!

I couldn't imagine living there and having to deal with the traffic, being Bike Week, the car shows, and also Sunfest (which is probably less deafening), and everything else OC hosts.

But I sure do love the Eastern Shore. What a beautiful area to visit!!!

The traffic is unbearable at times, but I lived in the Miami area for 5 years before this and it was like that everyday, year round!

I love that you took pictures of the Fractured Prune doughnuts. Those are decadent! I feel like heading over to get some right now!

Eat one (or two), for me:thumbsup2!

Ours was in '96 on leap day and we are too. DH has three Harleys right now. Head on back down there to the Boot Hill! It's so big now, they have it flowing over to most of the rest of the block on Main Street with the bands outside. We use it as an Anniversary trip so we always have a good excuse to get back down there. ;)
