DH and I are watching the final episode of OCC. Sounds like they are estranged in a major way. Dad didn't attend Paul, Jr's engagement party and the boys said something about "how Dad is these days".

I Googled it but didn't get the story.

Anybody?

:)Yeah, I'd like to know what happened, too.popcorn::

I was wondering the same thing. I think I remember something about one of the sons in some kind of rehab, but I never got the whole story. I don't watch the show so I am out of the loop.

Well, I don't know any of their names, so bare with me. :rotfl: Apparently one of the sons (I wanna say long blondish hair) is in rehab. Not sure exactly what for. The father is suing the other son over ownership of the shop.

Let me go see if I can find any info on it cause i'm doing a horrible job of explaining it. :rotfl2:

From TMZ

American Chopper" is ending its run on TLC and the crazy Teutul family will ride their bikes off into the sunset.

This Thursday's episode will be the series finale of the show. A rep for TLC tells us, "The Teutuls will always be a part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run."

The move is not entirely unexpected -- as we reported in December, Paul Teutul, Sr. is suing his son Paul over the family business, Orange County Choppers.

The last episode airs February 11 at 9:00 PM.

and

The father/son team that star on the hit TV show, "American Chopper", are locked in a bitter lawsuit ... ironically, these gritty, grease-covered motorcycle badboys are suing over stock options -- and daddy wants more than a mil from his son.

Paul Teutul, Sr. is suing Paul M. Teutul, claiming they had a deal in which daddy could purchase sonny boy's stock in the Orange County Choppers
Holdings, Inc. -- the motorcycle company.

Daddy sent a letter to his kid saying he was exercising the option to buy the kid's stock. But according to the lawsuit, filed in the Supreme Court of New York, the kid won't give it up.

Daddy is also suing Orange County Choppers, Inc. -- awkward.

Teutul, Sr. is suing Jr. for damages in excess of $1 million, and wants an order from the judge forcing the kid to ante up his stock to daddy.

They always seemed so coarse and trashy to me. No big surprise they are fighting amongst each other.

dad turned into kind of an ogre. Sons opened up the shop together and all three have part ownership in shop. Paul Sr is Dad, Paul Jr is short hair and Mikey, long blonde hair. Paul Jr was always arguing with Sr and Sr didn't like how casual he was about his job so when his contract was up, Jr and Sr agreed that he wouldn't work there anymore but he would call him in to help on some jobs, contracted per job. Worked once and never again. Sr got really cocky with his TV show and slowly and harshly pushed Jr out of the business. Mikey was still around and under contract but everyone always joked about he didn't know what he was doing. Mikey's contract ended and Sr chose not to renew cuz Mikey wasn't doing anything for him. Said he was always welcome in the shop but never happened. Mikey went into rehab for drugs and alcohol (i believe) and came out trying to find himself. Learned piano and invited Sr to recital but he never showed. Mikey was hurt and disappointed. Jr has had ongoing issues with how Sr treats all of his kids. Other brother (not on show) doesn't talk to SR at all anymore. Sr had enough of JR and went as far as pulling JR's bike out of the store room and dropping at the end of his driveway one morning early. Sr gave up his life with his sons for the show. Pushed them all away and the show was based on the father/sons business. It turned into a real drama and it's too bad. Sr's crew is really talented, Sr doesn't do the designing or much of the building (as far as the show shows it) but got the biggest ego that it has cost him all of his children. Really surprised the tabloids have not been running stories on this.

the lawsuit -"Through the Paul Teutel lawsuit, dad hopes to buy out his son's shares in Orange County Choppers. According to court documents, Paul Sr. sent a letter to his son saying that he was exercising his option to buy out his son's share in the company. According to Paul Sr., his son never complied."

It's too bad, Sr has no clue what to do to make a different bike, can't even get the dimensions right, he gets paid the money and his crew does the design and work. I wish the best of luck to JR and Mikey. Hopefully their life goes much better without having to deal with SR.

:thumbsup2 Wow! Will Jr go off and open his own shop? He is so talented and Sr has always seemed mean and crazy. All he ever did was walk around the shop and gripe. Who cares how long it took Jr to design and build the bike. They were wonderful. I Loved Mikey for the comic relief.

I thought Jr got a big head. He thought the business would fail if he wasn't there. I think they all need to go their separate ways for awhile. Eventually I hope the sons realize that they all are family.

From everything I have seen the son's have reached out to the dad and he's the one that shut them out.

I thought Paul Jr. was the only one that was serious about the business out of the family. I do believe that he had more of the "vision".

I saw SR on the Bonnie Hunt show and she was trying to get him to get to the "but they are your family" point. And he wouldn't budge. To him they are dead. He said as much. He's a stubborn old man who will lose his family over this.
And over what? Money?

They over-marketed their brand so bad that now you can find it on clearance shelves... it is a shame really. I used to watch it in the beginning but soon after I found it to be a joke, not a show about bikes.

TLC has had some winners in the recent past haven't they? Makes you wonder.. :confused3

I believe JR does have a new brand, I saw it on him, his girlfriend (?), his truck and whatever else was stationary during the brief 15 minutes I was watching it. :rotfl2:

PYRXTC, thanks for that recap. Now I understand much better what is going on with them. I have seen a few episodes of the show, but didn't watch it that often and probably haven't seen an episode in a couple of years.

The father sounds pathetic. Money and fame mean more to him then his own children. :sad2: It seems like some of the families that get involved with reality shows always end up fractured and destroyed because the fame and money always goes to somebodies head. They start thinking that they are better then everyone else.

Well, I hope he enjoys the money. Sitting alone in his big house and dying alone. :sad2:

Of course, with these guys, seems like there were issues present even before this whole fiasco started.

Hopefully the father will get a clue and come to the realization that he is a father and that he needs to start acting like one. I wish the boys the best of luck in their endeavors.

TLC...causing strife, one family at a time.:lmao:

The Loveless Channel

They must be following suit of Jon & Kate plus 8. After all they did pair up with them for a show!!! Another fine ending for TLC.

Wow, thanks for the recap! :confused3

So sad..... very, very sad for the sons. Sr really blasted his kids every chance he could, didn't he?

Jr. was really pulling away from the business for awhile as well, it's not all Sr as much as everyone tries to make it out to be. Jr got a big head from the show, went off with his (then) new girlfriend and wasn't pulling his weight around the shop before he opened his own business/brand. Did anyone notice how he plugged his new brand every chance he got?

That's true. But Sr doesn't talk to any of his children. Not even his daughter. So Sr really needs to relax and try to mend things with his children. How sad you have four children and none of them speak to their father.

I don't know whats worse. That he doesn't speak to any of his children now, or the way he spoke to them when they were speaking. Paul Sr made me cringe more than a few times over the years.

It always seemed to me that Mikey mostly, but sometimes Paul Jr, was trying to mold a kinder more affectionate father. Very sad really.

What a shame that this is the way they will go out.
