so, my son just started watching "my friends tigger and pooh" on the disney channel... and i'm confused... who is that girl and what happened to christopher robin?

anyone know?

thanks!

the girl is Darby. Now I'm not sure where she came from or where Christopher Robin went. We like the show.

We are traditional Pooh around our family. So much so that my sister will not allow her kids to watch the "new" Pooh. Christopher Robin or no one! They don't even mind the addition of the the other characters it's just HER!

We love the new winnine the pooh. Its really cute and Darby is great...If I remember correctly Christopher Robin was on a few of the episodes...

My DS (4) likes the new Tigger & Pooh.

Not sure why it is not Christopher Robin anymore, especially since SO many of the Disney shows/movies are really geared for/to girls.

But I know Christopher Robin was in at least on episode of My Friends Tigger & Pooh. It was about being thankful for friendship or something like that.

I wondered the same thing too....Me and my aunt have come up with this:

1) It's on Playhouse Disney and geared towards younger kids and Christopher Robin isn't energetic enough to appeal to 3 yr. olds.....

2) Christopher Robin had to go off to school in one of the movies...remember??

I've never actually seen the show...

But, might she (Darby) be Christopher's younger sister??? After all, Christopher has grown and is now going away to school. Maybe his younger sibling is still at home, and she now plays with Pooh and friends? Or maybe she is a relative, or friend of the family, who spends time at the Robin's home?

Just a guess.

I didn't want to like her at first, but I love her, and so does my dd. I'm glad they included Christopher Robin in an episode, and it makes sense that he had to go off to school. I wonder if they were trying to create a strong, intelligent female character. I believe the only other female is Kanga, the mom. They also added some other animal characters. My dd pretends she is Darby almost every day. Nothing against the princesses, but I really like that she is more into the adventurous, intelligent Darby and not as into princesses, although some of them are great characters too. People tend to lump them together with the original mostly helpless Cinderella. She likes the princesses, but loves Darby.

Slightly OT, but for those who would be interested. We saw Darby at MK! She was meeting and greeting near the Toon Town sign at the end of November.

She had a LOOOOOONG line and we were headed out, so we had to block the kids' view of her! ;)

Hopefully, we will run into her again in May.

DD who is just over three watches this and only last night she said something to me about 'Darby' I asked her who Darby was and she said the girl with the hat on with Pooh!

I had no idea this was her name and have been watching it all day, to try and see if they say her name, but do you know, not once did I hear it! Then I come on here and what do I see..........!!!!!

Thanks for confirming, what my three year old knows and I don't!

Is she likely to be at the character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine? with the Disney Playhouse Characters, has anyone seen her at Disney?

Kate

Darby is Christopher Robins sister, Christopher Robin is away at school, but he does come and visit once in awhile;)

Darby is sometimes in the Expo Hall (right inside the Town Square, just after you go under the train station, on the right next to Tony's)...we got a photo with her and with Pooh and Tigger at the same time! (we saw them there the whole week of 8-14-08 and some of the next week). Short line if any! My DD walked right up and even played with them for a while because they seemed bored and no other families/kids were around!!

She is also sometimes across from the Pooh ride in Fantasyland but with a line.

Oh, yeah, and Darby is adorable!! Love the smart female character!

Are we sure Darby is Christopher Robin's sister? Christopher has a british accent, doesn't he? or am I totally remembering incorrectly.

She's in the Playhouse Disney show. DS was pretty excited to see her. (he tried to get me to name DD Darby.)
we didn't see her when we had breakfast at hollywood & Vine - just the jojo's circus characters.

For some reason I thought she was Christopher Robins Cousin? I'm not sure where I heard that though.

My DD loves this show too.

This is so funny...everyone is analyzing who this Darby girl is...a bunch of grown ups dedicated to figuring out the Darby mystery..and it's even funnier that people have come up with sceneraios for why she is there...I know exactly though..I hadn't watched any Disney channel shows since I was younger and then I had my daughter who is now 1. When we took her at a few months old we waited on line for Tigger and Pooh and DARBY was there...and my sister and I were like who is THAT...and the guy said DARBY had to leave for a little bit so we laughed and didn't really care since we didn't know who she was...then I flipped on Disney Channel and My friends Tigger and Pooh happened to be on and there was Miss Darby...I will have to ask a CM next time I go and get the scoop...or ask an older kid..they always seem to know the scoop..
