What happened to 11/13/25 Dream cruise?

I was booked on the Dream for the 13th of November 2025 and got the cancelation notice from DCL along with a 20% discount on a future cruise.

Curious- Does the 20% off stack with another discount VGT or placeholder (we got one similar on our Sept 8 night sailing that stacked with other discounts)

I feel like for FCC due to a canceled sailing or mechanical issues that impacted a sailing, it is stackable with a placeholder...

I can't see why the launch of the Destiny would require cancelling Dream sailings. At the worst, DCL might want to move the Dream to a different dock or even a different port, or adjust the port stops.

Since there will be castmembers on both ships after the launch, they won't need additional staff for the launch. A more likely possibility is that someone or some organization charted the Dream for enough money to compensate for the missed sailings. I suppose it's also possible that something needs to be done to the Dream that can't be done during the dry dock this year but is important enough to do next year, though I have no idea what that could be.

This was my first thought as well. They were bought out. Surely someone will spill the beans.

I agree it doesn't make sense DCL would outright cancel 2 Dream cruises just to bring the Destiny online. There's no reason and they've never done that in the past with other new ships. Adjusting the Dream itinerary for those cruises if there was too much overlap with a new ship's preliminary voyages, that would make sense.

I also expect the Dream has shifted to a private charter. A maintenance need is possible but seems odd this far in advance.

If it's a private charter, then which cruise could they do this with next?

I don't see why they couldn't do it to any cruise (but historically they haven't), but honestly, please cancel my cruise next year and give me 20% off that I can stack with a placeholder!

I don't believe it would be the first time DCL has cancelled a cruise to make it a charter. So yes it's possible for any cruise. I do think DCL prefers to have charters planned out far enough ahead that they don't have to cancel a regular offering. But it has happened in the past and likely will happen again at some point in the future.
