My first choice would be the Candy Cane Inn. We have also stayed at the Park Inn (these boards mentioned that it has recently changed name to the Anaheim Camelot Inn with the same owner) and the Howard Johnson and liked both of them. We have stayed in other good neighbour hotels that were fine too but wouldn't recommend them due to them not being within easy walking distance (a must for us!).
The reasons we would choose the Candy Cane Inn over the other two are: comparable walking distance but CCI has a free, frequent shuttle if you want it, CCI had a very good continental breakfast (the best we have had around DL), they have the most comfortable beds with feather duvets and plenty of pillows (small but plentiful), rooms and grounds are clean (not that the others were not clean but CCI is VERY clean), the pool and grounds are lovely, the CCI is very quiet and there is plenty of parking if you rent a car.
