What gets you the extra Magic hours when they have it, Moderate or Deluxe Disney resorts?

We have two free nights at a Value resort and added a third. However, if they are having extended hours to guest at higher end resorts, it may be worth it to pay for the upgrade to get those few hours.

Thanks

You have to check to see which parks have extra hours each night, and plan accordingly, I believe that perk is only offered to guests in Deluxe or DVC hotels.

IMO I support the other posters in sticking with the “free” room you have rather than the 2 “free” extra hours for paying several hundreds more for the room. It could be cheaper to pay for genie+ and individual lightning lanes for the high ticket rides than upgrading rooms.

Lately, it seems like it’s mainly at EPCOT, not so much MK or HS over the holidays with all of the parties.

Plus, they change parks and days. Currently it's Monday and Wednesday with most of the nights only being for Epcot with a few nights at AK. But then the last week of November it changes to Monday and Thursday with 8 nights at Epcot and 2 nights at AK. For me, it's definitely not worth the cost to upgrade to a deluxe.

You have to also keep in mind that when Epcot is open for those extra hours, only the attractions (and I'm not sure it's all of them) are open for longer. Restaurants and food kiosks and shops are closed. We stayed for about an hour at Epcot in September so that we could finally get into Frozen Ever After and get another kick at the Ratatouille ride. It's actually a little sad with most everything closed and few people around. It's not the same as an after hours party where more things are open. I wouldn't pay for a deluxe resort just to get those extra couple of hours. I really don't think you'll get your money's worth out of it unless there's other things at that resort that you think is also worth the extra cost.

We had EEH this last trip. While it was a nice perk, I personally don't think it's worth giving up two free nights for. I agree with the poster right above me. We had extra hours at Epcot and got in Nemo (we were in that area of the park), Soarin, and Remy. We were going to head over to Frozen but they blocked going through World Showcase right after France as everything was shut down. We pretty much headed out soon after as we had done the other rides earlier. Our other park was AK and Pandora was very pretty so see at night. There was still a long wait to get on FOP though.
